Hey sounds like you’ve had a rough time recently. I want to just say this sounds like ocd not like denial. If it’s making you anxious that’s probably ocd best thing you can do is if you start to get anxious, instead of trying to get rid of the anxiety just sit with it and eventually ur mind will be trained to not care any more

I feel sympathy for you and I just want to let you know that you shouldn’t question the thoughts. Let them be there they won’t hurt you. I understand they are uncomfortable but the more you resist the more they persist, so; why not let the thoughts come. I totally recommend the book “the mindfulness workbook for ocd” second edition

Hey there! I am not an ocd specialist and can’t diagnose you, but what you’re describing is very much in line with what we’d expect from a person with ocd suffering from sexual orientation obsessions. I am SO sorry that your mom doesn’t believe you. I think it’s worth approaching her about this again. With treatment, things can get so much better. A script in case you need some guidance: “hey mom, I really need your help. I’ve don’t everything I can at this point to handle what’s going on with me on my own, and it’s not working. I need to see a professional. I’ve done some research online and I’d like to have a consultation with an ocd specialist. If they tell me it’s not ocd, I’m happy to try another mental health professional, but I’d like to start there. I know you’re feeling sceptical about this, and I want you to know that I really appreciate your help and support right now. I know this can’t be easy for you either. Can we please set up a call with an ocd specialist? Here are some numbers.”

PS please stop going into whatever forums/websites you’re visiting to figure out if you’re in denial. This is a compulsion and when you’re in treatment you’ll learn all about how this is exactly what’s driving your obsession. Until then, just stay away. I’d also like to share this helpful article about ocd and denial: https://ocdla.com/doubt-denial-ocd-5342

@pureolife This article actually helps a lot. You just don't understand how much I appreciate the help. I've felt so alone and I've been doubting my ability to do anything anymore. It's like I'm just to sad to overcome the thoughts because once I do I don't know what will happen. Thank you so much for the help. I hope I'm able to see a specialist

@tobious Glover I have been exactly where you are (I’ve also had your theme!) and it absolutely gets better. But you NEED the right treatment with a specialist. In the mean time, look into getting some books like the mindfulness workbook for ocd.

@pureolife Also: check out the podcast The OCD Stories. It’s a great way to hear directly from fellow sufferers and specialists about treating ocd.
