Sending good vibes and prayers your way! You got this. 2 years ago, I never left my house because I was compulsively having seizures because of disorder, and now I am able to go to school full time, work a job, and live almost a “normal” life. I don’t know exactly what you’re going though, but I know how it feels to fear going back to work and school. If it’s hard at first, don’t give up, find people who you can open up to and trust if anything goes wrong and you need to talk. You are so strong and you’re going to do great :)

@flore122 Whenever I feel overwhelmed, or something happens that triggers me, I have a seizure or lose consciousness like an epileptic person would have. I had all kinds of testing done, and after about 3 years, my dr finally found they were OCD related. It’s been happening to me since I was 14, and I am an adult now. They can also be caused by severe anxiety. I now take medication for them so they don’t happen as frequently. I would definitely recommend speaking to a doctor!!

@jillianS Wow!! Ok I've been feeling similarly but thought it was just a me issue. This makes sense. Im so sorry you had to deal with so much! I'm so glad you were able to accomplish so much. May I ask what medication you take, if u feel comfortable disclosing? I will be talking to my doctor about this.

@jillianS I personally get a lot of brain zaps, head pains and involuntary muscle movement in my arms and legs

@flore122 I’m sorry you are struggling too!! I take a high dosage of Prozac, which has been proven to fight ocd related symptoms, buspar, which helps with all of the anxiety that comes with OCD, and gabapentin, which helps with the involuntary movement and pain that is associated. I’m glad I was able to help and I hope the best for you!!

@jillianS I’m honestly so thankful that I was able to read your post today. It was such a blessing! And thank you for helping me! Quick question (last one I promise) did u do erp to get through it? Like, how does someone do response prevention when their body is giving them seizer like symptoms? This is where I struggle. Again thank you thank you! I’ve been reading up all morning on this and think it maybe something called psychogenic nonepileptic seizure.

@flore122 I did CBT to supplement my medication and get through it! Basically I learned why it was happening and had to work to almost “decide” that it won’t happen anymore. Finding other coping strategies also helped. I’m so glad we were able to communicate today too!!

I was out of work for a year too when I had ocd really bad. When I went back I kept a piece of paper in my pocket with my intrusive thought and a reframe for my intrusive thought i predicted which thoughts would come up at work and I kept it in my pocket. It was very comforting. Example: Everyone is laughing at me. Reframe: my ocd is saying everyone is laughing at me
