My sessions are covered by insurance so I pay my co-pay. ERP is the hardest therapy technique I’ve ever done but so worth it!!

That’s lucky! Mine isn’t covered. I probably should have stated that @periodttttt

@Justmesadly Hopefully you can find someone in your network, it’s convenient to have a therapist on here but the exercises and SOS button are free tools that you can show a therapist in person or screen share on medical Zoom

@amandacyp I’ve already started therapy. This app is great and has so many tools that work directly with the therapist which any other therapist wouldn’t be able to offer. So I chose nocd therapist

So far it’s been great for me. If you call they give you a break down of what’s included I think it was

@Peridottttt Well my therapist is the best one I have had yet. They are super helpful and explain a lot about ocd when you get diagnosed in the first session. Then you have 6(??) 1 hour sessions that are $123. Then 6(?) 61$

@Justmesadly hi, I have my first session coming up, do they diagnose you during the first one?
- Date posted
- 4y
@avaaa Yes! So if you have ocd they will explain things and how the program works and if you have something else then they will direct you to the proper therapist

@Justmesadly okay thank you so much! How long is the process take of them trying to diagnose? Sorry I’m nervous just trying to prepare myself hahaha

@Justmesadly So like if a person just says they have ocd but doesn’t will they mistakenly diganose you with ocd. A psychatis I can’t spell that word diagnose me with ocd

@avaaa Meh just go in there

@Peridottttt They ask Do you questions to properly diagnose you even if you’ve been diagnosed before is possible to be misdiagnosed still every time you go to a new therapist or psychiatrist they’re going to redo the diagnosing process

@avaaa I think it’s an hour and a half and there’s nothing to be nervous about they literally just ask you a bunch of questions and then ask you to explain things and it’s best to just be 100% honest so that you’re not misdiagnosed . I can tell you if you have other things as well because sometimes it’s not just OCD for example I have general anxiety disorder panic disorder and OCD

@Justmesadly The first session (90 min.) is also $123. And yes, there are 6 of each of the other sessions.

@Peridottttt We talk about how I’m doing, what’s been happening, i write down everytime I’m triggered and what triggered me if there was a trigger and I rate the anxiety so then we go over that. We go over more erp excerises. Etc it’s really different per person and per therapist

@Peridottttt It’s on zoom. And it’s super nice bc I can also message her on the app when I’m having a bad panic attack or struggling badly

@Justmesadly How does she help with panic attacks cause I need advice when I get nervous on zoom as well

@Peridottttt She didn’t teach me on zoom bc it’s for ocd but she taught me tip/ temperature (take a super cold shower for as long as you can stand it), intense exercise for 20 mins or do jumping jacks for like 5 mins straight, progressive muscle relaxation: tighten all of your muscles 1 at a time and release
