Hey there! Everything you’re feeling is valid - and all people with OCD will be able to vouch for what you’re going through on a very personal level. I see in the comments that you’re currently in talk therapy and CBT, and that ERP does not work for you - I really, really doubt that (sorry!). ERP, when done incorrectly, can definitely worsen OCD. Talk therapy for OCD is notoriously horrendous - sorry to break it to you. It turns into a back and forth of reassurance seeking, which is just pouring the fuel for your OCD. And I’m so sorry that you’re in this place. You’re letting OCD drive your life, which happens to all of us here. I can only give so much advice as someone who is not a professional, but please understand that there is HOPE! I’ve also seen that you’re pregnant, which is amazing! Take that as a sign that you need to find someone who is specialised entirely in OCD - they’re all on this app. Please at least try this out. There. Is. Hope - I promise you this.

Are you doing therapy or taking medications? They can help a lot!!

Oh yes lol. I’ve been on medications since I was 4. I’m on so many. I do talk therapy and CBT twice a week. I recently just found out I was pregnant and in an attempt to make it healthier for the baby I cut one of my meds in half and now it’s still working to build up back to where it initially was. Huge mistake on my part. The other day I did EMDR and it was another huge mistake. The exposure therapy does not work for me at all and actually makes things worse

@LuLaBelle95! Congratulations for your pregnancy! Im sure everything is going to be okay. You taking medications since you were 4 for OCD?

@Clairslemon Yes. I’ve been taking medication since I was 4 years old. I’m on 200mg of Zoloft, 200mg of Lamictal, 30mg twice a day of Buspar, and 700mg of Seroquel. I was on 0.5mg twice a day as needed of Klonopin but now I obviously can’t take that which sucks

@Clairslemon I was the most severe child case my well known psychiatrist has ever seen. I didn’t talk for a week straight when I was 4 and my parents knew something was wrong. They took me to my Pyschatrist whom I still see today at 25 years old. Usually when you’re that age you don’t do medication but I was so bad they had to

@LuLaBelle95! I understand! Well, it’s amazing that medications helped you so much! 🙏🏻

@Clairslemon Yea they really have. In my 25 years this has to be one of the worst times with my mental illness. In attempt to make it more healthy for my baby I cut my Seroquel in half so it’s still working to get back to where it was. Unfortunately it takes 4-6 weeks

Yeah! You introduce yourself and then people just freely share what's on their minds, what has been difficult, what has worked...it's very chill. They have them 6 days a week too!

@LuLaBelle95! Yeah! It's really good to hear from others with ocd, and about what others do that helps them to cope.

I think so many of us can relate to these feelings. I'm glad you were able to share them and get them out of your brain. You should log on to one of the Zoom support groups! They are so great. They is one today at 1 pm (EST in the US). It's nice to be around like-minded people.

How does it work? Do people just talk to each other about what is on their mind?
