I'd be cautious. Maybe her free videos have value, but I wouldn't pay her anything.

Agreed! I don’t think she is a licensed therapist or has any sort of relevant degree! Her content is hit or miss for me

I agree! I’m not going to buy any of her packages or anything. I tried researching what her credentials are but couldn’t find anything except “experience”. I just got a weird vibe from some of the stuff she says I guess, so I wanted to see what others thought.

@Justmesadly Yeah some of what she says is helpful, but sometimes it sounds like misinformation

I know she doesn’t have any degree but she’s had ocd herself so I’d say she’s more likely to relate to us. She has helped me so much in my recovery from just watching her videos and listening to her podcasts. I listen to her all the time and I strongly recommend her

Maybe I have to watch some more of her videos before I know if she’ll be helpful for me or not. I’m happy she has helped you so much, and it does make sense that she would be able to relate to us more since she’s had OCD herself. Thank you!

I'm glad she was helpful. However, would you want a certfied teacher or someone who also "went to school"?

@Ben84 That's a funny example (in a good way) but I'm sure she read a bunch of stuff on OCD and scientific articles and I think she works with patients?? Or texts with them? I think she mansions other people's cases in her videoa

@Ben84 It’s not a general thing.. she’s experienced what we’re experiencing and she’s proven to be helpful so why not use the method she used to recover. I get what you’re saying but I can easily say would you want a certified historian to tell you how the titanic sank or would you ask a survivor? Or would you ask a Holocaust survivor about concentration camps or someone whose certified in history? Sometimes it’s not all about certifications

@Keep Going This logic is so off.. just bc she has recovered doesn’t mean she knows as much as someone who spent years and hours learning about this condition. Experience helps but it’s not the end all

@Keep Going I would want a certified historian doing the interviewing...

@Justmesadly I didn’t state that I am not also receiving therapy from a therapist. I understand that spending time learning about it is important as welll, all I’m trying to say is that she’s been what has helped me the most in my recovery. She’s been doing this for over 10 years so I think it’s safe to say she knows what she’s talking about.

@Keep Going To each their own! She says a lot off very off things as well as contradictory things. I watched her videos before I started therapy until she contradicted herself too much. I also think she pushes her app too much and says the same things in every video 🤷🏻♀️

@Justmesadly In what ways has she contradicted herself because I’ve never noticed. And you’re 100% right to each their own, I hope you found what works for you. I vouch for her because I was at my lowest before listening to her. I would sleep all day and feel hopeless and somehow by just watching her videos I started to get motivation and began to get better so I know it can help others as well.

@Keep Going Uh I can’t give specifics but I watched a video and was like yikes this isn’t true and is contradictory. And I looked in the comments and a couple other people said the exact same thing as me! I have found a NOCD therapist that is incredible so I no longer watch Ali’s videos. NOCD also has good videos on YouTube

Her videos are good though she doesn't send a very clear messages on ERP or disregarding the thoughts. In her videos about recovery she talks about doing ERP but other videos are on just disregarding and those things are different!

I recommend her and Chrissy Hodges. Ali is a little more straight to the point and Chrissy recognizes the emotional side of it all.

I trust Chrissy Hodges and she says someone like Ali Greymond likey does harm too often. Do no harm is a basic tenet.

I watched many of her videos when i was doing ERP myself. The videos helped a lot with important tips I needed to remember. I only watched her free videos on youtube. I can say now that I am no longer trapped in thoughts circle

I'm sure she knows a lot but idk if she's a professional.
