I just discovered it last year when my situation got worse that time I was experiencing harm ocd and religion ocd, it was so bad, I am so depressed and don't know what to do.My symptoms that time are disturbing intrusive thoughts, repetitive actions of punching, hitting my head and counting and checking the dooes cause I feel like someone's gonna kill me.

I started noticing signs of ocd when I was 15/16 and in 2018 I developed more compulsions and got diagnosed with ocd last year. When I was 15/16 I had checking my bags multiple times and checking use by dates. I’m now 22

I'm scared right now to not get diagnosed until I'm 20 years old.

@Serenity How old are you if you don’t mind me asking? I didn’t know about ocd when I was 15/16 I thought the behaviours I was doing was normal now looking back I realise that it was part of my ocd.

@hanajade I'm 15 years old, I started having symptoms 4 or 5 years ago but I just discovered ocd during the pandemic since it got worst and I noticed that there's something wrong with me and it's not normal.

@Serenity You can get diagnosed with ocd by a psychologist or a psychiatrist or a doctor. My ocd got worse during the pandemic as well.

@hanajade I'm planning to consult a psychiatrist but the problem is that my family doesn't know about this.I can't afford it by myself but I started collecting money and I'm recently finding for psychiatrist who offers much cheaper price and I hope I get diagnosed before the year ends.

@Serenity Maybe you could try and show your parents articles about ocd and how it impacts your life and your parents will be able to get the help that you need.

@hanajade We're not that close and I am so worried and nervous about what her response would be.I just really think she won't understand

@Serenity Ok parents can be quite understanding at times. You deserve to have a life free of ocd and it’s better to get treatment early before it gets worse.

The first ritual that I can remember / actually identify as a ritual was in the 1st grade (I was 6). After the teacher told us the instructions for a project, I would have to go up to her and review the instructions with her to make sure that I had heard them correctly. (Ex: “Okay, let me know if I remembered right: So first we cut the paper down the dotted line. Then we fold the paper twice. And then unfold the paper and color it?”) She took this as that I was not paying attention in class (even though I was). I remember always being so nervous every time I did this because I could tell she was annoyed. 😬

I’ve had OCD all my life though, that’s just the first ritual that I remember. I was diagnosed with OCD at 11. Now I’m almost 16.

5th grade I wouldn’t go anywhere without a trusted adult and if they were out of my sight I would panic and run to look for them bc I would swear that I was gonna get kidnapped
