What type of ocd do you suffer from?

So i had everything, contamination, harm, perfectionism, false memories. The false memories are the ones that delay me from trying to conceive, after i saw some series where a woman cheated to her husband and then she didnt know whose baby was. Then this started i could not go near men even when k walked outside or got for shopping, amd then got a fear that omg what if i have gone somewhere during the night while my partenr is sleeping and started to remember people from my past and try to create senarios, it was a different senario each month since December 2020. Sad story and i really want to create a family

Do you still do erp for this?

That's what i am doing it for, it is getting better but very very slowly

Well I bet in no time you’ll be confident enough to try and start trying for a family. Just don’t give up!

How did it go? Was it too intense and stressful for you and the baby?

@LuLaBelle95! No it helped a lot! And baby is a ok!

@LuLaBelle95! Also I stayed on lexapro both times. If it helps to know - I’m also an obgyn. Fully support staying on meds if you need them and doing erp

@Tmptrta11! Oh wow. What Ocd do you suffer from?

@Tmptrta11! Do you suffer from harm ocd?

@Tmptrta11! Oh wow! You’re an obgyn! That makes me feel a lot better. Now let me ask you this next week I’ll be out of the first trimester and into the second. I took Klonopin for 9 years and I stopped because of the pregnancy but I’ve been really struggling so next week I have an appointment with my obgyn and I’m going to ask if I can go back on it. They will probably suggest against it but my mental health has been really jeopardized these first 3 1/2 months. What would your advice be?
- Date posted
- 4y
@LuLaBelle95! Yea I’d still advise against klonopin and to try Zoloft or lexapro instead
- Date posted
- 4y
@LuLaBelle95! I have before but not currently and not during pregnanct
- Date posted
- 4y
@Tmptrta11! I am on Zoloft already. I’ve been on it since 4. But even if you suggest against it, if your patient was really struggling would you allow it? Only small doses

@Tmptrta11! Yea that has been my current theme lately. My mood has been all over the place too. I feel really depressed
- Date posted

@LuLaBelle95! I wouldn’t prescribe it. Just because of the withdrawal for baby. Possibly buspar would be better? Benzos are really bad in pregnancy for neonatal withdrawal
- Date posted

@Tmptrta11! I’m already on buspar and it doesn’t do anything. I’ve done tons of research on it and I know the risks. And the benefits outweigh them. I think I’m just going to tell my doctor that it is crucial that I take them. It sucks because I don’t want to have to take them but I have no other option. It would be on a as needed basis. I already have a full bottle from before I was pregnant and haven’t taken any so thankfully I already have a prescription. Ultimately it’s my choice and I know that it may be looked down upon but idk what else I can do😞

@LuLaBelle95! Yes it is your choice and sometimes the benefits do outweigh the risks, I was just hoping something safer would work for you!

I’m 8 months pregnant and ERP has really helped. Although erp is difficult it significantly decreases my overall stress so I figure a few moments of intense anxiety is better than being anxious alllll the time.

I’m really considering it but my parents think it’ll be too stressful for me. But at the same time I think that I can do a safer version that me and my therapist could come up with that is safe for me and my baby ya know

Sorry to ask but what time of ocd you had during pregnancy as I intend to conceive but I have ocd
- Date posted
- 4y
So I’ve suffered from severe OCD, anxiety, add, and adhd since I was 4. It was onset from a little bit of trauma. But tbh there were some things I tried to do such as decrease my medication but it just didn’t work. But don’t be afraid to try and have a baby. Just don’t decrease your meds unless you think you can and are confident in doing so. But I think that you just might have to have some extra therapy to help cope with the hormones

I don't take any medications at the moment is all ERP, I kept having obsessions that somehow I'll get pregnant and wouldn't be my partners so I kept delaying the time that I would start trying so sad I know.

Don’t delay! That’s just your ocd trying to rob you of something that you want to do in life. Ocd likes to take away all the good things in our life
