Yes!!! I had been almost free of intrusive thoughts, anxiety and panic for 1 year and a half. My pedestrian had to drop me as a patient because on my age and where I live it can be very hard to find another doctor... I had a major relapse because i stopped taking meds

Ah I'm so sorry to hear that :( I'm in the middle of a relapse rn and literally just a few minutes ago got confirmation from my psychiatrist to increase my dose back up a bit and I'll see how it goes. Were you able to get medication again? And if so did it help end your relapse?

Yes I ended up in the hospital and they referred me to a family doctor. It has helped a lot with the anxiety and panic!!!

@Anonyme That is awesome you can get your relief you need. What meds have helped you? Did you get the side effects first?

@Kls2121 Pretty much all meds I've taken have come with issue amd not all have really dine anything at all but the one I'm currently on (amitriptyline) works very well. I was actually put on it because of constant nausea, which is definitely anxiety based, so it actually helps overall with ocd tremendously. I will say that at a high dose I sometimes felt "neutral" emotionally so right now it's all about finding the right inbetwen. Hope this helps

@lucius Thanks thats great you found the right one. I know its all trial and error. Just scary with so many side effects to them. Thats good you kept trying even though you had problems with the others.

@lucius Can I ask what side effects you did have with the others?

@Kls2121 Iys been so long and so many variations that I can't remeber everything, but I can tell you that Zoloft (sertraline) really messed with my blood pressure and when is stand up even moderately fast I'd almost faint. Pressure would spike badly. Pressure issues seems to be the biggest for me. Othee antidepressants I took for a very small time but long enough to know they didn't do really anything for me. Amitriptyline tho, within 3 days of my first dose my nausea was gone. With time i had to raise the dose to find the right therapeutic dose for me but it's very much impressed me.

@lucius Ohhh that's scary. Glad you were ok. I didn't know it could mess with blood pressure. Its good to know there is hope.

@Kls2121 Yeah but it really 100% depends on the person. It's important to have a good therapist and psychiatrist thst can follow you and consistently evaluate how your treatment is going. I personally have found that intense erp therapy and medication is the perfect combination for me but for someone else it could be one or the other on its one. There's always hope, always.

Why are you reducing it? Are you trying to get off of it?

I was trying to get off of it but in the end it's just a bad time with lockdowns and covid. Lockdown alone is making me more and more nervous and sad so to reduce my antidepressant now was just a bad idea on my part

@lucius Has it helped you? Some people just need it.

@Kls2121 Yes honeslty it has, I now realize, and I'm in the middle of a big contamination OCD crisis because I stopped it. Basically my ocd is pretty much the same without it except that I never get true anxiety and only stressed by triggers when I'm on it.

@lucius At least you know now. I know it sucks having to take it. As long as its helping I would stay on until you think your really ready to stop it.

@lucius Did you get any of the bad side effects when you started ?

@Kls2121 Not particularly but part of the reason I was reducing it was to see if some problems were from it
