Without giving reassurance, I think it's important to note that annoyed responses or putting up walls to other peoples struggles does not automatically make someone apathetic. A lot of times, when you care deeply about a lot of things that affect others but then feel apathetic about some things, this can be a sign of traumas or wounds coming to the surface where we havent had people to validate our pain so we feel exhausted at the idea of feeling for others when their problems seem different than ours. Remember that humans are complex. The longer you create this chart of am I or am I not, the further you get from acting on your values and getting the upper hand on ocd.

thank you, you really understand! that’s made me feel better. there are definitely some traumas i need to work through but it helps to know i’m not necessarily a cold unempathethic person when i feel apathetic at times

the answer is to try and stop googling even though it’s really difficult! most of this post is also just rumination, another compulsion. this is what’s keeping you stuck. try and get busy!
