What can you learn from these experiences and take on to the next?

Idk. Some jobs were good some were bad but i never stayed for more than a week. I just know that i hate calling the manger to tell them i quit its so uncomfortable

@Coul.C She’s asking a great question that you really need to think about I think. Why are you leaving these jobs? Are you trying to stick it out more than a month or 3

@Justmesadly I always feel like i can get a better job somewhere else. I want the best pay and all but then i end up quitting for whatever reasons. It reminds me of a bad experience, or i think i can get paid more somewhere else, or i dont like whatever section they put me in....

@Coul.C You’re not going to get paid better somewhere else if you keep quitting. That’s not a good look. Especially after a week!

@Justmesadly No lol i mean the starting pay is better. Like for different stores in the same position etc. and it doesn’t really matter if its a “good look” because on my resume I only use places that are longer than like 2 months i do now atleast

@Coul.C Or people will say oh this a good job whyd you quit? And then ill feel like i made a mistake it’s exhausting

@Coul.C So then you’re gaining no job experience. Try to use the logic brain to think about this. You’re not even learning the job by the time you leave. Pick a job and stick with it. Don’t worry about pay else where. If you stay you could end up with a pay raise anywaysb

@Justmesadly I mean i pick up things pretty quick but the job raise thing is a good point... i am using the logic brain. Its just in overdrive right now...

@Coul.C You will probably feel less stressed and more stable if you pick and job and stick with it so you meet people and learn the job, know that you’ll have steady income and can look forward to a raise

@Justmesadly You’re right. This make sense thank you.. its just i get annoyed i looked up some stuff and found out that the job i work is located in anotherstore as well, but the store employees get a better starting pay and discounts that we dont get..... and im like why cant i work there... ugh my brain is always comparing. But i will try even if it doesn’t pay well to fight my ocd.

@Coul.C Not trying to be right just hoping to help you see another side of this. I would complain to the job about that. Doesn’t seem legal.

@Justmesadly Well its two different chains basically. So it is technically legal. Just sucks. And yeah sometimes another person’s perspective is needed. Especially when my mind goes into overdrive

@Coul.C Oh okay that makes more sense. I wouldn’t worry about it. Just pick a job and try to stick it out at least 6 months unless you’re being bullied or harassed or something

@Justmesadly Theres one last thing though. At another franchise they reimburse any of the money i use to get liscenced at this job they don’t... i got hired at the other place but quit cause it was too triggering

@Justmesadly Im sorry to hear that. Idk if i can go back though. Im working on it but that means id have to quit this job? Im a mess and hate it. Thinking of staying at this job also makes me feel depressed but i quit so many jobs already :(

@Coul.C It sounds like your ocd might actually be affecting your job choice. Unless you feel the job is “just right” or simply the absolute best choice or option, you’ll quit. But job choice has so many factors that can’t be predicted upon hiring. And definitely can’t be determined in a matter of a few days or weeks. Starting pay is one small thing. Then there potential for growth, investment from upper management, opportunity for growth, coworker relationships and happiness, etc. With ocd, no choice will ever feel good enough. Stick with it anyways. You’re giving up way more than you realize by trying to maximize your very potential simultaneously when you have very little information. And basic stability and working towards a goal will likely help you mental health and overall happiness way more than any of these other metrics and their minor deviations could make up forx

@pureolife Thank you for this response. Yeah. I feel like i need to be the best or have the best and if there is any other option out there i feel like i need to explore it or im letting myself down/ lettingocd win when in reality its the opposite.
