I am currently doing the same thing. Been on seroxat for 6 years and have tapered off with my doctors help. I was sick of not feeling myself on this medication. First week, major vertigo, like a ‘swoosh’ feeling in mh head every time I get up and move. Now its starting to get better, and I have more energy. Mind does race a bit, but i plan on using CBT for that.
See what sucks in my scenario is I got my covid vaccine and spent a long day of computer staring for work RIGHT before my symptoms kicked in. But I also stopped my SSRI less than a week before the symptoms started as well. I’m certainly going to talk to my doctor, I think it makes sense that it’s most likely withdrawal, but I’m just hoping I can make it through without having to go back on it but idk how long symptoms for me could last 😭
I’m in a very similar situation as you. I recently decided to cut back on my 20 mg to 10 mg after only taking 20mg for a week. I would say for almost two weeks now I’ve been getting the exact same symptoms just not the eyes strain. I’m trying my best to just ride it out, but two weeks in and it’s not been fun at alllllll
Ugh I sit on a computer for my job too, idk how I’m supposed to ride this out. It’s not like I can take painkillers to numb the headache either. I’m guessing you take lexapro?
@Recoverer I’m actually on celexa. And I get that, I’m on my computer for online college courses right now so I definitely think that negatively effects how we already are doing. Is it possible to take some short breaks during your work to step outside for maybe even 10 minutes?? I know being outside has been helping me and ice packs for my headaches
I’ve also had a headache most of the time, feeling malaise, and my anxiety has gone up this week, all common with withdrawal. I’m not looking for assurance necessarily, but more if someone out there has gone through this before and can share any symptoms they had?
Interesting, I took lexapro but I didn’t know the dosage is similar to celexa. And yes it is possibly, I stretch quite often and I have a bit of ADD in me, so I’ll get distracted quite often and get up more than I should probably lol. But with the symptoms I’m feeling now, it’s only when I’m staying still in a certain spot where I feel fine (thus the vertigo-like symptoms).
