I have always taken Zoloft. For me, it has always taken about 4-6 weeks for the anxiety to actually reduce and 12 weeks for the thoughts to take less place.

I take Lamictal + Buspar, no anxiety with those for me.

Tranquilizers and Antipsychotica help me with this

So you take that with the antidepressants? And it helps?
- Date posted

@Kls2121 SRRI will start helping in 2-3 weeks, so idk, and maybe I'll need to take up the dosage. Rn I sleep a lot and feel less anxious, ruminate a lot less, but I am depressed

@Daria Alexandrovna I’ve only been on mine for 3 days and already feel really tired!

@Anonymous Do you take it in the morning or at night? Maybe you can switch and take it at night
- Date posted

@Anonymous I've been on mine for 4 or 5 haha :) But I'm not only on SRRI
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 I believe that my reaction is totally normal and I worry a lot less, expecting the depression to go away when my SRRI will start working
- Date posted
- 4y
@Daria Alexandrovna Well if its already helped you that much in 4 or 5 days thats awesome. And wait till hits its full effects.

@Kls2121 Ahah well tranquilizers work fast, they are supposed to help me not k*ll myself until SRRI starts working 😁

@Daria Alexandrovna I wonder if my doctor will prescribe that as well.

Have you already got the more anxiety?
- Date posted

I’ve been quite anxious today but I think that might be linked to a lack of sleep
- Date posted
- 4y
@Anonymous I feel anxious on not enough sleep. Did you not sleep because the meds? I know it can cause insomnia.
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 I slept all night last night so I think it might be general fatigue
- Date posted
- 4y
@Anonymous That makes sense. Hopefully you can sneak a nap in.
- Date posted

@Kls2121 can’t relax enough to have a nap - it’s been a very teary day:(

@Anonymous Awwww im so sorry your going through this. At least you got through your first day of the med. Lets hope it will go up from there.

@Kls2121 I’m starting erp this week! What are you up to?
- Date posted

@Anonymous Thats really great!! That should definitely help you. I made appointment with my regular doctor to see about meds. I can't afford to go to psychiatrist, which makes it even more scary.

- Date posted
- 4y
@Anonymous Are you taking it in morning or at night? Are your thoughts getting worse with the anxiety?
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 I’m taking it in the evening at the moment (which might have to change) and the thoughts are stronger I just feel a lot lor upset about them
- Date posted

@Anonymous Thats a start if you feel less upset about the thoughts.

@Anonymous I know its only been a couple of days but do you think its helping minus being so tired? I would see what your doctor thinks of that.
- Date posted
- 4y
@Anonymous I forgot to ask you see a psycitrist or regular doctor. Just curious?
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 I see my regular doctor. I’ve always noticed that when I’m tired the thoughts get a lot worse, so I can’t really tell if it’s starting to work yet
- Date posted
- 4y
@Anonymous Honestly if your able to I would try and nap whenever you get a chance. If you can't sleep maybe there is something you can take.
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 I’m definitely going to have to, without a doubt. We’ll see how tonight goes!!

@Kls2121 +++ on that!! I sleep a lot and feel so much better. It's like I never rested before even when I overslept.
- Date posted
- 4y
@Daria Alexandrovna Ohh wow really? How much sleep do you get?
- Date posted
- 4y
@Daria Alexandrovna Also do you feel like its numbing your emotions at all? I know its only been like 5 days though.
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 I sleep like 5-6 hours at night bc it's hard to fall asleep at that time but during the day I can sleep for additional 3-4 hours and feel great. i feel like I rest and I rarely get dreams
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 I'm not only on SRRI, so SRRI doesn't show its effect I believe yet. It's too early. I'm affected by antipsychotics and tranquilizers, which reduced my anxiety by a ton but I feel depressed at times. But it's bearable to live!!!))) And that's very very great. No major side effect yet
- Date posted
- 4y
@Daria Alexandrovna Thats right. Are they addictive like xanax?
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 Yeah Gedazepam is so I'll have to get off it slowly but I think it's going to be ok. At least it helps me bc I have had suicidal thoughts
- Date posted
- 4y
@Daria Alexandrovna On the meds or before the meds? I can't remember are you seeing a psycitrist or regular doctor.
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 Before and sometimes now but less often ofc I am seeing a psychiatrist.. once in a while bc I am a student and cannot afford it Are you receiving treatment?
- Date posted
- 4y
@Daria Alexandrovna Well thats awesome weather it be the tranquilizers or zolft. To have less of those thoughts is great!! I have an appointment for a regular doctor. I know its not as good as seeing a psycitrist but I can't afford one at all. One session is like 3 or 400.
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 Yeah I feel you... I can barely afford it too. Btw Zolofr is a SRRI and I take one too but It's not Zoloft. So I take all three
- Date posted
- 4y
@Daria Alexandrovna Ohhhh wow. I didn't realize you take 3 things. Hoping they all work.
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 Yeah they totally do!! :)
- Date posted
- 4y
@Daria Alexandrovna Which ones are you on?
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 Antipsychotic + tranquilizer they are fast in act so I didn't have to wait for days for them to work. + SRRI. Not giving any names because I live in Ukraine you probably wouldn't have those

@Daria Alexandrovna My doctor said he might prescribe me buspar on Friday. But u didn't really mention the ocd since he's a regular doctor and I read thats mostly for anxiety so now I'm kind of scared. I font know how to talk about ocd since he's a regular doctor but scared im going to take the wrong med.
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 You should talk about it if you suspect it
- Date posted
- 4y
@Daria Alexandrovna I know. Just scary because some doctors don't understand ocd.

@Kls2121 Being misunderstood is better than being treated badly
- Date posted

@Kls2121 Buspar is given to many people with ocd. Read my little explanation below.
- Date posted
- 4y
Buspar is helpful for calming and preventing any sort of intrusive thoughts, anxiety or ocd related. I'm thankful I take it every single day. Yes it was created as a General Anxiety Medication but hey antidepressants are given for ocd all the time. Just because it's labeled a certain way for manufacturing doesn't mean it doesn't have multiple usages. Even epilepsy medications are used for multiple personality disorders. Trust your doctor they have years and years of hearing clients just like you and different from you too.

Thank you so much for this.. how kong you bedn On? Any side effects? Do you take this alone? Do you still have thoughts alot? Sorry so many questions. I didn't exactly tell my doctor of ocd. I was scared he would send me to psycitrist which I can't afford. He's a regular doctor. He prescribed this for anxiety and some panic.
- Date posted

@Kls2121 No side effects! I'm even able to take an extra dose if im realllly anxious . Right now I'm at 15mg twice daily. I take my first dose paired with a medication called Lamictal in the morning, and another dose of just Buspar alone towards the end of the day. This is the first ever long term approved anxiety medication without harmful side effects like alprolazam or any benzos. It's non addicting. I have alprolazam ready for panic attacks if I need it, I try to use Buspar first and only use the alprolazam as more of a last resort. I started off at 5mg and worked my way up if I saw I was still feeling lingering intense anxiety over the day because of my thoughts or outer triggers. I'm not perfect at taking my meds on time everyday as my sleep schedule changes, but it still works!

@whatadooo Thats great. I did hear it works really good paired with something. I wonder if it would still help as much with just the buspar?
