Hey. 12 weeks isnt super long for treatment. I think lots of people probably feel the way you do. It seems like we get into peak anxiety during erp then the treatment ends. Dont let people tell you this is you, i think the program should be longer. You should ask to see your therapist for a few more weeks and tell them whats going on and keep working. The anxiety definitely gets worse before it gets better.

I asked to do year long maintenance meetings but they are only every 2 weeks and only 30 minutes... I dont think they are long enough either !

@Justmesadly Thats good. It does suck that it isnt longer. My response isn't necessarily about your therapist not being good. But if they aren't as available to you as you need them to be then what good is that doing you? Sorry, I've suffered from OCD for a lot of years and I'm just at the point where i dont want to see others struggle with it anymore and its SO HARD to find someone who will treat it and stick around. OCD therapists are so busy. There arent enough of them!

@Anonymous Oh I see! She is available, that’s just all they offer once you complete it .

@Justmesadly Have you looked on the psychologist today website to find OCD therapists around you? You can filter the searches. That’s how I found mine. Some offer teletherapy if they don’t live in the same city as you

@Anonymous I don’t want to ask my parents to pay even more

@Justmesadly I found on PT an OCD therapist for $75 per one hour. I think that's rare but if you find someone pre licensed its cheaper and they can be really good.

@Anonymous Oh that’s not bad price

@Justmesadly Idk where you live and if you have insurance but I have Medicaid and they pay for all my doctors visits and therapy. Idk if you already have insurance but I don’t have to pay anything for mine if you’re worried about cost. Not trying to get in your business! But just trying to help

@Anonymous I live in the US. I have insurance and it didn’t cover NOCD and luckily since I’m a young adult my parents were willing to pay for it for me. My insurance is covered by hardly anyone unfortunately

@Justmesadly Same as my insurance. I have medicaid and it doesnt cover therpists that charge more than $100 an hour which is basically everyone. Luckily nocd does a payment program 😀

@Anonymous Dang I thought Medicaid covered all that cause my plan says it does :/ But @justmesadly you can also look for therapists that have a sliding scale for payment options. That’s another option !

@Anonymous Or like a university where students need hours and they’ll have someone supervising

@Anonymous Yeah I don’t have any money so a payment plan doesn’t help me! And I don’t have Medicaid I just have normal insurance

I’ve had 1 year of ERP CBT and 2 & half years of person centred counselling for trauma linked to my ocd and I still struggle. 12 sessions is very little give yourself some real grace ❤️

You’re certainly not alone, there’s tons of us. Have you over watched ocd mindful? It doesn’t sound you may have been ritualizing throughout your treatment which is why you’re not feeling better...

No I haven’t watched that. I will look it up! I believe you mean ruminating? Yes I have been ruminating. I don’t know how to stop

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2Bhyq27IoCc id watch this. Go back through your ERP and stop yourself from ritualizing, no posting on the app, no reassurance seeking, arousal checking
