@Kls2121 Yes!!! I am quite nervous but lets be positive ❤️❤️❤️ It is alright even I have to suffer the side effects rather than having this crazy anxiety..

@Kls2121 I dont feel anything. I am trying not to get influenced by other stories but it is hard 😂 I actually regret that I was reading a lot of bad stories about this medicine..
- Date posted
- 4y
@darkcloud Thats why everyone would tell me stay off Google lol. I read so many bad things but more good things than bad. But at least you braved it and took it.
- Date posted

@Kls2121 Yes. I have to. I ve done so much research already. I ll pray hopefully it goes well. ❤️ I have to push myself 😔
- Date posted
- 4y
@darkcloud Same here. My ocd latched to this and I keep researching. Big big mistake.
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 Yes right? It feels like the idea so irrational but yet it stuck on the brain and cant get out. No matter how much compulsion you do, no matter reassurance you get it is NEVER ENOUGH. It is always DOUBTING. So much suffering.

I had a really good experience with Zoloft. Actually the happiest time of my life was when I was on it. It’s different for everyone so you won’t know til you try
- Date posted
- 4y
Thats the scary thing. My husband is so against it so it makes it so much harder. How were your side effects?
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 I had dizziness and feeling kinda strange when I first started but after 2 weeks I had no side effects. It’s the initial few weeks that will be difficult
- Date posted
- 4y
@erma12 Thats awesome. I'll will deal with all the physical side effects. Im just soooo nervous on the mental part. I have harm ocd so I'm scared It might make me snap.
- Date posted
- 4y
@Anonymous Ohhh wow. Did you have ocd before starting? What did the doctor say? I hope they switched yoi because it doesn't seem like it was working
- Date posted
- 4y
@Anonymous What do you mean you feel like a different person? How did you feel on it the last time? Honestly don't be scared to tell your doctor. Just because it worked last time maybe this time its just not. Maybe you need to be on something else. 6 weeks it should already be working but it doesn't seem like it is. The doctors have heard it all so dont feel embarrassed.
- Date posted
- 4y
@Anonymous That means its not workimg. I know its got to be hard. Please tell your doctor and switch to something else. Thats no way to feel.
- Date posted
- 4y
I’ve been on it for 2 weeks now and I’m not going to lie when I saw it hasn’t been challenging for me. However, I’ve had a few days with a lot more clarity and freedom so far. Stick with it, you’ll be ok!
- Date posted
- 4y
Thank you. How do you feel now? Did it get way worse? Do you feel zombieish at all?
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 I’m feeling ok, it didn’t get much worse, only a few periods (a few hours or so). Appart from that I feel like my usual self. I had an upset stomach for the first few days too
- Date posted
- 4y
@Anonymous Yay! Thats awesome for you.
- Date posted
- 4y
For me I was really giddy for a few days, but then everything went back to normal. For each time I increase, the giddiness in the adjustment period becomes less and less. Now I really don’t have to adjust to anything when I increase. For how it affects me: It just makes the OCD thoughts not as scary. I feel more powerful than them.
- Date posted
- 4y
That sounds amazing. So glad its working for you. I love success stories. I've had friends on it before and all of them said it turned them into a walking zombie.
- Date posted
- 4y
I've been on Zoloft for 4 months now and it has helped alot, before I was on it my ocd and depression was through the roof and I was crying everyday and didn't want to do anything. But now since I've been on Zoloft it has improved a lot, yes I still get my intrusive thoughts and stuff but they're more manageable and I cry a lot less.
- Date posted
- 4y
Thats awesome. Did you have any of the side effects? It seems like its helped so many people on here.
- Date posted
- 4y
It’s different for everyone. I didn’t feel worse before I felt better, I was just really tired for a week. Not everyone has all the side effects, some have none, some have all, some have a few. Mental health meds are really a trial and error kind of thing. You and your psychiatrist find what works best for you! Remember it takes a few weeks for it to work all the way. And doses can be adjusted, meds can be switched, just keep in tune with how you feel ☺️
- Date posted
- 4y
Thank you. You are a lucky one. I'll take being tired over feeling this way.
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 Yes yes, I hope you find what works for you! I think Zoloft is worth it. It’s really helped me! I even feel less brain fog. And ya know, if it doesn’t work there’s SO many other meds. Don’t ever give up okay? 😊

I just joined but not approved yet.. My therapist also suggested me this, but I am not sure coz I am breastfeeding eventho she said it is safest anti depressants than others medicine 🙄
- Date posted
- 4y
@darkcloud Yea I hear so many good things but I know everyone is different so I'm scared its going to make me actually crazy
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 Yeah my concern is my daughter, people says it is alright with the baby, because it is short terms, who gonna do research for long terms effects? Noone.. Thats why it doesn’t says it is safe for breastfeeding and pregnancy on the box of medicine, coz it is not clear yet.
- Date posted
- 4y
@darkcloud I honestly don't blame you at all. They do say its safe but who really knows 100%
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 Yes, they say depression mother also bad for the baby. I m at point when I actually need just to swallow magical pills and I am free from OCD, that would be great. I suffer a lot, some days re less compulsion some days are really bad and I break down. I dont know what to do 😞😞😞
- Date posted
- 4y
@darkcloud How old is your baby? I know how good breastfeeding is but if you really need to try the med maybe you should start formulas. I have kids and only of them was breastfed and they are all just as healthy.
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 8 months now
- Date posted
- 4y
@darkcloud They say the first 6 months are the best for breastfeeding so if you had to stop i think it would be ok. What theme of ocd do you have?
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 It changes from time to time, it was my health, and then when my baby was born it changed to her, from harming to sexual abusive then lately coz I read somewhere someone has obsession about her daughter as an evil or something It got stuck on my head like totally ridiculous lead me to so much nonsense compulsion. It is so crazy. 🤦🏽♀️
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 I think with OCD, it is so tricky to get trigger by others stories. In other side we want to have support and sharing but then we gor trigger.
- Date posted
- 4y
@darkcloud Same here. Mine has always been health ocd but never to bad. Then it switched to harm ocd. With having kids it scares me so much. Im scared when I start what if I snap and actually harm my child.

@darkcloud I feel like I've had ocd since way before. Harm ocd maybe 2 years I think. How about you? I've never tried anything yet. Cand afford therapy so I went to regular doctor and he prescribed zoloft. Picked it up yesterday but soooooooo scared it will make me actually crazy
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 Yes me too, it was my health then my daughter now. Here in Europe, Insurance pay for this kind of therapy. I am glad about it. Eventhough took long time for me to finally found a person doing CBT. Yeah they say it is game changer this medicine, some ppl have it for 15 years 😳😳😳 they got so addicted
- Date posted
- 4y
@darkcloud I wish the usa did that. Its a joke out here honestly. I have heard so.e great things of zoloft. Really great. But I'm just scared even that little chance I can get way worse freaks me out. I've read it can cause people to become violent. Have you heard that at all?
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 I was thinking you re in The state yeah, insurance is not mandatory like in here. I am in Switzerland. They cover it all. Hmm, did you join with this FB group called Zoloft should be illegal? Maybe you can find information there.

For most people it works! It only changes the way you respond to certain events — and that only happens when you are on it! Just go slow with the increases, and if you don’t like it, you can get off of it. Most people don’t have a hard time getting off of it. I wouldn’t go on those Facebook groups because they aren’t reliable. It’s like looking at Google reviews on psychiatric units — the patients there don’t always give the full picture and all they talk about is the staff being mean. They always forget to say that even though a few staff members were rude, most were fine and that the hospitalization saved their life. Plus, certain mental illnesses distort people’s perceptions and they aren’t accurate point of views. (I think I’m justified in saying this because I’ve stayed in psychiatric hospitals twice and I’ve seen how some patients turn situations around to seem horrible when really the staff acted reasonably.)
- Date posted
- 4y
@em.jem Thank you so much for that. How did it work for you?
- Date posted
- 4y
@em.jem Yes how did it worked for you? I honestly already 90 % want to take it coz my OCD really out of control, am just still confused
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 It has worked pretty well for me! For me, it makes the OCD thoughts less frequent. Unfortunately my OCD has a fear around the medication which makes it hard to increase. So it’s not working as well as it could be because I’m not at my recommended dose yet. I’ve made a plan to actually increase my meds this month. Personally, the only thing with Zoloft is that it took me a while to adjust. The first week I went on Zoloft I was super giddy and had a lot of energy. Every time I increase my meds, the adjustment period is less intense. Last time I increased I had no side effects.
- Date posted
- 4y
@darkcloud If your OCD is out of control, you should take the medication! Things will get so much better, I promise! Just try it for a month or so, and if you don’t like it, you can always get off of it. Nothing is permanent! Zoloft is not a heavy medication like antipsychotics!
- Date posted
- 4y
@em.jem Yeah I heard that too, but do you think I could get off of it one day? I mean not get addicted in my lifetime.
- Date posted
- 4y
@darkcloud Are you going to start taking it?
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 Wahhh this guy is soo good, check him : www.drmichaeljgreenberg.com He is very good, i just printed out the worksheet for core of fears. I just called today Breastfeeding association here and they say it is ok to take setraline, it is very very small almost nothing goes to breast milk. I ll ask tomorrow my therapist about the possible effect on me for long terms use.
- Date posted
- 4y
@darkcloud Thanks 😀 did you ever go to the Facebook pages? Im still just debating all this. I want to feel better. My bad days can get so bad but I'm so scared of getting worse on zoloft and not being able to come off of it.
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 Yes it is all pro and controversial 😞
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 Yea that is also my consideration too.. Thats why I want to ask the therapist tomorrow.. My husband rely on medication and cant stop, he has also problems with depression before.. On and off..
- Date posted
- 4y
@darkcloud Thats how it is every where. Its so hit or miss. Im just so scared
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 Yes some of them also off from medication and surely there are side effects but has to be slowly Yeah it is Like a gambling.. Who knows maybe it works and good and maybe when we off it will worser the symptoms and have to increase the dosage and we re in a rabbit hole 😞😞😞
- Date posted
- 4y
@darkcloud Exactly!! Sorry to hear about your husband. That makes it even worse. My husband is against this types of meds. So he's not happy about it and it makes it harder on me
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 Oh yes he has schizophrenia since long time ago but he is now way better.. But he is rely on medication. 😞😞😞 I saw sometimes his legs are shaking.. He takes is maybe for 20 years now.. On and Off.. He has to, schizophrenia is heavy mental disorder
- Date posted
- 4y
@darkcloud Sorry to hear but at least he has the meds to rely on. Nothing is perfect.
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 Will update you tomorrow after I visited my therapist..
- Date posted
- 4y
@darkcloud Yes please do.
- Date posted
- 4y
@darkcloud I’m sorry to hear that. But keep in mind that antipsychotics are MUCH stronger than antidepressants! Getting off of antidepressants shouldn’t be super difficult unless you are very sensitive to medication changes. Usually most people come off of them fine. Trust me, it’s not as scary as you think! Just try 12.5 mg, you can get off of that low dose at any time! (Of course, the therapeutic dose is 100mg and the max dose is 200mg.)
- Date posted
- 4y
@em.jem The reason his leg was shaking was probably because he was on very strong antipsychotics (or suffering withdrawal from suddenly stopping them). You shouldn’t get withdrawal symptoms if you taper off of your antidepressants — and even if you did, it would NO WHERE NEAR be as bad as suddenly stopping antipsychotics!
- Date posted
- 4y
@darkcloud Antidepressants are not addictive!!! Yes, your body becomes reliant on them (reliant ≠ addiction), but if you taper at a good pace, you shouldn’t have any withdrawal symptoms. You will not “crave” them. They shouldn’t be hard to get off of! It’s not like benzodiazepines or antipsychotics! And I’ve been on antipsychotics before and I got off of them with no problems — then again, it was a very small “baby” dose of Risbritol (0.75mg daily).
- Date posted
- 4y
@em.jem doctor suggested me 25 mg first, yes i think i ll take it for my sanity. I feel like i cant control my ocd, so suffering and the brain seems doesn’t want to be quite.. so anti depressants is not the same as antipsychotic ?
- Date posted
- 4y
@darkcloud Yes, they are VERY different!!!
- Date posted
- 4y
Good luck
- Date posted

I ll take it
- Date posted
- 4y
@darkcloud What did doctor say?
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 When are you starting
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 she said that this medication wouldn’t make me addicted, but i have to be careful when I stop, not stop straight away..lower the dosage slowly..she said it will help with the therapy, it will makes me grounded at least, so I can control my ocd while doing therapy too..this is the strategy..
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 i ll start tomorrow, I call breastfeeding associate they also say it is safe..

I had that harm OCD, also sexually abusive too, And you know what, when we have OCD, we are so easy to get trigger and pick up theme from another OCD sufferer, so it is very tricky when we want to Look support in community/ instagram page etc and end up we develop new theme, it happens to me it got stuck until now, I regret it so much was reading that post.

@Kls2121 My husband says the only way to know is to try, the thing is we dont really know the truth, coz people react differently. In the Fb page they give some tips also. To minimize side effects. Have u joined?
- Date posted
- 4y
@darkcloud Yes I have. Your husband is right. I might try it if I dpny like first couple days ill stop before I get addicted maybe
- Date posted
- 4y
@Kls2121 Yes I just wrote in here and some ppl answered with good experience also on FB i saw some good stories too..I think I ll take it and change my lifestyle more healthy in order to minimize the side effects probably. When ppl tells bad stories, we dont really know if they live healthy you know. they probably live not healthy and taking anti depressants. So it is not fair to share bad experiences without telling the whole story. I also check from Website in this country about this medicine. and this country quite trustworthy with medication. Today I was totally losing focus while my daughter needed me, I was too much spending time doing compulsion so bad so bad

@Kls2121 Yes, I remember first my dark thoughts when she was born. And it was disappeared coz I didn’t do anything, I didn’t google it. so I didn’t get obsessed. But the second time 3 months after, It was a big mistake I googled it and then I joined with this rabbit hole of OCD. Then I read alot of stories that only made my symptoms worser. I thought it could help me, looked support etc but I think for me personally better I talk with one or two person like this, and do therapy. I don’t need to know much, coz it affects my mental state a lot. 😔😔😔

@Kls2121 It is like a person who didn’t know she had cancer, then she knows from doctor and after her condition totally worser..

@darkcloud Sooo well said. I was the same. I think I've always had ocd woth obsessive thinking over situations. Never worried until I got harm thoughts of my daughter and that is not ok. So I researched snd googled obsessively and have gotten worse. Even this app. Its great but I think it helped in making me worse because I became obsessed. Ive cut back alot with it though. I have only talked to a few on here now.

@Kls2121 Yes, exactly.. The Harm thought, I had that too. Interesting, coz I gave a lot of attention like I feed the thought and became bigger and stronger. Once I visited therapist, he said, It is all illusions you wont harm your daughter, the thought suddenly disappeared completely. It lose power.

For starters I was on this medicine before i remember the first few weeks were very scary and debilitating. I don’t remember why I stopped taking it , it was about 7 months ago. but I just recently started back because my ocd and anxiety has been off the chain. I keep having bad thoughts about the side affects and I’m terrified like “ what if I have a seizure” can anybody share an experience? Anyone on Zoloft here. Thanks !

I just got my SSRI’s and I’m kinda nervous to take them so I was wondering if anyone has had a good or bad experience with them.

So my doctor is starting me on 25 mg of Zoloft soon and I'm actually really exicted. I'm finally ready for this to be manageable. I know it's not a cure but I am told that zoloft is primarily recommended for specifically ocd. I'm not sure if I'm ready to start it tonight but yeah. Please do not tell me any negative side effects or anything related to nausea since I'm taking it for emetophobic contamination ocd and I don't need any opinions to make me biased but if any of yoy had SUCCESSFUL zoloft stories please comment!!
