You definitely could! I have recovered to my theme and here I am now, thinking normally. Our obsessive thoughts won't go on forever, they'll fade away someday, trust me. ^^

@emrock Tbh, nothing special really. I sat with the thoughts because I can never make them leave my mind anyways. Prayers helped me the most ngl. I never did therapy or medication, but if you're able to, try it, it'll help. I don't know but, after a few months with my ocd thoughts, they became powerless. They slowly faded away.

@NOCD Advocate - Carl Cornett Yeah, that's why I told him if he could seek for the help from professionals, he should try it. I was never able to seek help from therapists because, OCD is not well known in my country.

@emrock The types of exercises or exposures you do is specific to your personal experience. Iām not a clinician, but if therapy is available to you then I suggest you get started!

@emrock ERP works for any OCD. Doesnāt matter what kind. Most people have a mix of ocd from harm to incest relationships sexuality whatever ocd can trigger anything it likes to jump around. Once you get one thought under control it focuses on finding another one to bother you. This is where ERP can really help you break free from main triggers and then focus on smaller ones. Trust me it took me months my first time to even know I had ocd then once my parents found ERP therapist that specialized and I did the work it slowly got better. I went 6/7 years without a major episode. To the point I didnāt even realize I had ocd anymore. Do the work and you will see results. Your not a bad person think like this (we all think weāre crazy at one point) but if you were crazy those thoughts wouldnāt cause anxiety. So weāre actually probably the best people. Because we hate the thoughts so much that we make ourselves suffer. Stay strong and fight. Attack the bully and take your life back. I still have ocd daily also but I will never let it stop me from anything even if itās full on attack mode. believe in yourself and who you are before your major episode and focus on getting back to that!! Stay positive!! God bless

@Mikeb63 Thank you mikeb63 for explaining it further... This inspires me .. yes, i have to believe in myself and believe that I am normal and not a bad person .... I will have my psychiatry soon and i will talk bout the ERP so we can discuss how it works..

I read once that āNeurotic is the new normalā lol so sometimes, I try to remind myself of that but yeah, I totally hear you. I have friends who seem to have no doubt or dysfunction and just wonder, like... How?
