hey guys! I had the worst episode of ocd back in 2019, it took over my life and I was in constant panic. I didn’t even know that amount of suffering was possible. since then, I’ve had great moments and experiences and I was able to “return to normal” - whatever normal is anymore lol. It can and does get better!! I’m on my third regression currently but trying to stay strong 🤍✨ sending so much love!!

I feel like 5 life changed when I had my first real intrusive thought that really triggered me. I’m 38 years old and never experienced that before. Now I have them all the time and it’s really troubling. I would love to go back 6 months when I felt normal.

I’m sorry to hear of your struggle. I still remember my first intrusive thought from about 5 years ago. Things gradually got worse and worse on average, although there are always peaks and troughs. Hoping ERP will help me, as I’ve never tried it!

@Anonymous I stared therapy a few months ago, but it wasn’t working. Switched to a new therapist who will hopefully be more helpful. Even though I told my old therapist about having intrusive thoughts and having a hard time moving on, she just sent me pamphlets on how to deal with it lol. I really opened up to my new one, so hopefully we can come up with a plan to help me get better.

Ya. It’s tough. I’ve kinda always had intrusive thoughts, but they never triggered me and I never obsessed over them. Something changed about 4 months ago, when one really bothered me for weeks. Then just recently I had another one, and it really triggered me. Been dealing with it for a week now. 5 months ago this stuff never happened.

I’m 37 and never had to deal with intrusive thoughts until about 6 months ago, after I had covid. It’s been miserable. Anxiety and intrusive thoughts have led me to depression. I have been in group therapy but not specialized to what’s going on with the ocd, so tomorrow I start with NOCD. I’m hopeful.
