YESSSSS %1000000. before i didn’t even want to get better. i thought i didn’t deserve to get better. all i wanted was to figure out if the real-event ocd was true or not. i didn’t want self compassion or anything. i did not care if rumination was going to make me feel worse i just wanted to break the uncertainty. let me just say, rumination does not break uncertainty. rumination will NOT make you “figure out” the truth. it was never made to find out truth it was just made to cause anxiety and distress. once you stop seeing rumination as a solving tactic and start seeing it for what it truly is, a trap into causing anxiety and distress, you will ruminate less. the pain of feeling like a bad person will lessen. the pain of the uncertainty will lessen. the only reason that you feel like a bad person is because OCD convinced you to. OCD is what is causing you to feel like a bad person. and what is fueling OCD? rumination and culmpusions. and once you kill off those compulsions, you kill off the OCD and you kill off the feeling of feeling like a bad person. i’m now doing therapy and getting so much better. OCD wants you to feel like a bad person. it wants to convince you that you don’t deserve therapy or don’t deserve to feel better. that is the entire point. it’s not true!!

@Anonymous it’s probably better you don’t know if you don’t experience it already since OCD is very susceptible to picking up other peoples OCD themes.

@boo 😽 I'm trying to figure our if that's what I have .. my ocd is me seeing little innocent things people do or say and flipping it in my brain to something sinister .

@Anonymous real event ocd is when you remember an event that truly happened, but your ocd flips it and twists it into something to cause you anxiety or distress. you can have false memories about it and you can also have a ton on “what if?? what if i said this?? what if i did this??” thoughts. real event ocd/false memory ocd is commonly linked to another ocd theme. so for example if someone has harm ocd (hocd) they might have real event ocd about harming someone with their car on the way driving to work.
