Hey, I used to have some forms of religion and existential ocd by having immense fear of the devil and hallucinating demons around me. I’m not Christian but am Muslim but we have a discord server with separate channels for those who are Christian and are going through religious ocd. Let me know if you’d like to join. 🙂

Adam is not the first man . Gen 1 26-28 . Adam is created AFTER THE SABBATH , in chapter 2 . Realizing these small things can answer the questions posed by science . There are many other such tiny revelations throughout the bible , I suggest you study also the missing books like Enoch and Jasher , both are mentioned in the bible yet conveniently left out .

There is evidence that points to extraterrestrial interaction with very early man , which also can be seen in the bible , if looked at objectively ..it's a truly wonderful subject to study , but know this , there is a Creator . And no religion is correct . What yahshua (jesus) taught was equality . None greater or lesser in the eyes of the creator . We all have access to that power , through our relationship with the father creator , and can do miracles as he did . He said so and I dare anyone to prove different . That's why they killed him. For bringing truth to the world

See there’s a logical problem with that statement my friend. Jesus was one of three things. He was either lying, or crazy... or, He was telling the truth. While He DID teach equality, that wasn’t the only thing. He said “I am the way, truth, and life. Nobody enters into Heaven except through ME.” You can’t make that claim and be “just a good teacher.” No, either he was a liar, crazy, or truthfully God in the flesh (or the Son of God... I’m praying for answers on that one). In other words He wasn’t saying “just love everyone,” He was saying “love everyone because God loves them, and because my sacrifice has made them clean.” If no religion is correct, then we have no moral objective standard and life is meaningless. Furthermore we can rule out the conclusion of His being crazy, as if we look at many of His interactions with people, He spoke with a clarity that cut deep into the hearts of even the most broken people. And they killed Him because the Jewish view of a messiah was some kind of a war hero and ruler, not this humble carpenter, so the corrupt “religious” leaders of the day did not take kindly to His claims, nor did Rome, not JUST the truth He spoke into the world; so, I’m going to have to respectfully disagree with you.

@When nothings sacred, there’s nothing to lose Do you have an opinion on my second comment about why I am having difficulty? I would love to hear your opinion.

@babs7119 Yes. The first thing I will tell you is that you will not be punished for questioning. God does not punish people, rather uses their hardships for advantage. And as for the Bible being inspired by God, I fully believe this to be true, though I’m not sure what you are saying about the stories being around since before the writers; I will agree with this statement, but also take into account the fact that we don’t know who wrote Genesis, and written language wasn’t around for the Creation. I’m aware this doesn’t cover all stories you may mean, nor can I. But, it is possible that God wanted to select the right author for those stories, so He simply waited to inspire the right person, even if that meant waiting years. I haven’t looked into other cultures that much, but correct me if I’m wrong when I say you are referring to other Abrahamic faiths? Other cultures may have, as you said, “bootlegged” Bible occurrences or have been around in a similar area at that time and seen the events and interpreted them differently from the actual Bible. Those are personal theories I should disclaim, I haven’t looked into this. And as for holidays, there is this whole time period when the Christian and Catholic faiths took over, and formerly pagan holidays (like Easter or Christmas) were “Christianized” by the church. They decided to celebrate Christian events during these times, even if this isn’t when they actually happened, in order to overshadow the pagan holiday. Hope this helps.

@ricktherocker I have heard of that instance, yes. However my own personal opinion on this is explain in my other comment. So, that may have really happened, but the right writer wasn’t alive at the time for God to use for that story. Not saying that’s fact, but that’s what I think. And furthermore Bible says that Jesus had done many more things than were actually recorded in the Bible.

@When nothings sacred, there’s nothing to lose Something to note . All the gods Mithra , Krishna , Dionysus all have similar stories , born of virgin , Dec 25 , did miracles etc . These all predecessors to Jesus . Funny how his story kinda sounds like theirs , many falsehoods surround the story of yahshua . The truth is he was a real person , secular and religious documents verify this . He existed , he taught exactly what I said . Read the three synoptic gospels , ( John is not ) he was killed for bringing the truth , never claimed to be God , only to be a son of , such as we all are . I'm not trying to dissuade anyone of their faith , only encouraging you to seek the the truth , if you truly want to be like Jesus , you should be Jewish . That is a fact . No way around it . Christianity didn't begin until around 313 ad .

@ricktherocker Christianity did not begin until late due to the fact that Christianity is a religion centered around Jesus, so we couldn’t exactly worship someone who hasn’t been born yet. And as I had said, I am in fact praying for the truth as to whether Jesus was God in the flesh or simply the “Son of God.” And it is like I said as well; the church simply celebrated the birth of Christ on that date because of the fact that they could do that to overshadow the pagan holidays of the time. Finally in the Bible, it’s taught that we are “adopted” into the family of God, and that Jesus was His “one and only Son.” In the Bible, the first ever entity to refer to Jesus as the Son of God was a demon; the thing knew who He was, and was terrified. He knew of His power. And I’m sorry to tell you, demons aren’t afraid of us. If they were, we wouldn’t be on this app right now. No, I am not saying ocd is anything akin to demonic possession, but it is, like all strife, of a result of the evil one.

@babs7119 You’re very welcome my friend. I’d recommend checking out Southland Christian Church on YouTube. They are essentially the reason I decided to give my life to Christ fully in the first place.

I think the thing to realize is you are battling OCD. Read your Bible, pray, go to church and get in therapy if you aren’t already in it. Keep it simple for now! These OCD rabbit holes are not productive and keep you in torment. It’s ok to not know everything.

Faith......not know if what I believe is true. Trying to believe in things that you hope are true but other's have found the opposite of. Example....... If the bible was inspired by God as is the stories, then why were some of the stories around long before the writers? Other cultures had similar stories that you find in the bible as if they were copied and rewritten. Like holidays, the great flood and others. What if God punishes me for questioning?

@babs7119 God will not punish you for questioning as you are seeking to find the truth. Are you speaking of the Old Testament? Other cultures had stories like the great flood only proves the Bible is truth. See them as evidence that yes it did happen. Which stories are you questioning

@babs7119 I also want to make sure you saw what I said about Southland Christian Church; while they won’t really get into historical debate material, they really highlight the significance and implication of a life changed by Jesus. I might also recommend the book/movie “The Case for Christ” in which atheist Lee Strobel highlights his reason for becoming a Christian due to his research into the historical credibility of the life and resurrection of Jesus.

Historically there is no proof of resurrection , you are pushing your brand of faith at this person . I contend that you seek for yourself decide for yourself but by all means , seek the truth .

If you look at the fact that so many people have reportedly seen Jesus after his death; actually, you know what, just read the book.
