Have you spoken to your doctor or psychologist?

They also tell me it's safe all my doctors but I just don't trust it! Like how can it be safe when raw fish isn't? Idk.. but I'm on it 🤷♀️ Do you mind me asking what ur ocd became about when pregnant and if it attacked ur partner or those u love ?

@Hopeful8 Yes I know what you mean the ocd then makes you doubt the doctors. My ocd had always been centered around contamination and health. So instead of those worries being about me and my loved ones it changed to the baby. I even quit one of my jobs because I was scared of certain chemicals around myself and the baby. This is when I knew I wasn’t coping and needed to be back on meds. I try to remember that ocd attacks what you care about most. So the baby IS safe, the ocd is just sending me perceived threats, not real threats.

@Hopeful8 Don’t forget too that the hormones of pregnancy play a huge role in agitating the ocd. You know deep down your husband is amazing, but your body is fighting the ocd and the hormone shifts at the same time. Don’t forget to be kind to yourself because you are doing the best you can!

@Elly04 Do you think the hormones really do play a part? This one specific thought I had I remember the first time I had it I was probably a week pregnant .. didn't even know but then it grew and grew. Hopefully my levels even out after I deliver!

@Hopeful8 I really do! Because a lot of women find when they have their period symptoms are worse and your body is going through so many changes when pregnant

@Elly04 Someone once told me the crazy thing about being an over thinker is that we are usually right,,,, Using this theory how do we know we are not right about our thoughts and they are gut feelings

I'm not pregnant but I hope to be someday. I often think about how it would be to be pregnant with OCD and raising kids while managing my own OCD. I hope I can beat this before then but who knows... Does your OCD get better with the new distractions of raising a family?

Hi.. I'm currently pregnant and my ocd is out of control and it's actually attacking my husband. For no reason. He's an amazing guy. It's horrible

Hello I am 21 weeks pregnant. I think with the increase of hormones I also had a massive spike in how debilitating my ocd was. I ended up going to the doctors and have now been back on Sertraline for 2 weeks. I really want to enjoy my pregnancy but the ocd was just smashing me everyday.

Same.. I'm on Prozac I don't even know if it's helping. I'm not in crisis mood but this one very specific thoughts haunts me pretty much 24-7. I'm so nervous to be on the meds and how it'll affect my baby. Do u feel the same? How is the medicine helping u?

@Hopeful8 Have you been on it before? Has it helped before? That sounds very tough 😞 even while medicated I still have many intrusive thoughts but I just seem to be able to listen to the rational side of my brain more. I would say it improves my day to day life by 40% which is pretty significant when I’m in a very bad place. I avoided meds for so long because the OCD would tell me it was dangerous for the baby. But I just wasn’t coping without them. So spoke to my doctors and they all said it is safe for the baby
