She wouldn’t respond to any emails or messages. I don’t think a scam, probably full of clients and not as much time. But her videos are brilliant for me personally.
- Date posted
- 6y
What did you message her on? :) She seems to know what she’s on about. And if was a scam people would comment all over her videos?
- Date posted
- 6y
That’s what I thought. All the testimonials on her website are amazing but what if she wrote them herself?! I’ll pay anything if it helps me live a normal life but I don’t want to make a mistake!
- Date posted
- 6y
She is one of the only people to understand/explain what I have been through. Her advice took me from 10/10 suicidal to like 5/10 OCD in a few weeks! But there are no public reviews :/

@caretta is Brain Lock helpful? I’m thinking about buying it I just want to know if it really helps because I’ve heard from a lot of reviews that it’s excellent
- Date posted
- 6y
It is amazing. Seriously buy it!!!
- Date posted
- 6y
It is called the 4 steps - google it - it sounds simple but it really works. No scary ERP involved
- Date posted
- 6y
Do you/did you get false memories? I wouldn’t wish this on anybody. I don’t think people fully understand what we have. Why would you feel stupid? Things can happen. You did it once, that just means you can do it again! But know it’s possible this time

Brain lock is a scam. Check out stop obsessing from Edna Foa

Total rubbish - brain lock DOES NOT endorse giving in to compulsions

I can’t argue either side as I haven’t read it. I’m not sure saying “it’s just OCD” is reassurance. It’s being able to recognise a thought as an OCD thought. When you accept uncertainty, your mind becomes clearer and allows you to rationalise and label the OCD thoughts. From my very limited knowledge on the subject ?

Correct

- 6y
It’s actually more common than I thought! :/ Have you been dealing with it well?
- Date posted
- 6y
Yeah I know. I had like 10/15 at once... But now it’s just down to this one, I’ve managed to stabilise the rest. But this one is ruining my life, makes me feel like a piece of... :/ But I’m kinda coping! Yeah I see the price went up for it since she put the initial video out. So there must be a lot of demand

I love listening to her. I did message her once and she did respond.
- Date posted
- 6y
Yes I find her videos and books really good but I’m just wondering about signing up for her Skype therapy. Don’t want to get scammed!

I understand, I've thought about it to. I also have those concerns.

If I go for it, I’ll let you know how I get on!

Are you getting any therapy?

Yes I am. I don't remember to be honest. It was after listening to one of her videos.

Any of you tried CBT?
- Date posted
- 6y
I’m on a waiting list for CBT. What worked for me last time (I was cured for 10 years) was a book called Brain Lock. I totally recommend it and it is similar advice to Ali Greymond

- 6y
Lewis, you should try emailing her again. She replied to me today when I enquired
- Date posted
- 6y
How does it work? Like what method does Jeffrey Schwartz use?
- Date posted
- 6y
I will! I am on the waiting list too. Just got on it. Hopefully a phone call this week. My issue is with false memories though :/ Would Brian Locks book help with my issue?
- Date posted
- 6y
It helps with all types. You’ll be ok I promise. Are u in U.K.?
- Date posted
- 6y
Yeah I’m from the UK! Alright, I’ll get it. It’s the false memories that’s ruining my life at the moment. Been a good day today! Has yours?
- Date posted
- 6y
Hmm mixed. I think I might be making improvement but very slowly. I’m in the U.K. too. Feels like there is more help in USA, don’t you think?

Well done for having a good day!

I’m not sure, it may just seem like that over there. But they also have to pay for it. May I ask what your theme is? The more I stick at it the better I feel. But it’s so hard to be normal when I feel like I’m a horrible person!
- Date posted
- 6y
You can do it! My theme is harm ocd :(. I overcame it before in 2010 but it’s come back which is so upsetting. It’s so hard that the brain can be so convincing. I should know it’s all rubbish because I’ve had ocd before and beat it! I feel stupid :(
- Date posted
- 6y
Thanks :) I’m not sure about false memories. I possibly do but I don’t want to think about it too much in case I confuse myself!! Let me know how you get on with recovery x
- Date posted
- 6y
Now I’m confused! One person said it helped them, you say it’s a scam?! Why?
- Date posted
- 6y
Email any ocd expert who specializes in ERP and they will tell you the same thing. OCD treatment is about accepting uncertainty not about giving into compulsions, which brain lock endorses
- Date posted
- 6y
Brain lock agrees with accepting uncertainty
- Date posted
- 6y
It does. Ask a psychologist about it whose an ERP Specialist.
- Date posted
- 6y
Brainlock tells you to tell your thoughts “it’s just OCD” that’s called reassurance

The guy Schwartz has been banned from the IOCDF conference FYI

Well it worked for me so I’m not going to get into an argument about it lol

False memory ocd seems rare -I have had that as my ”worst enemy”?.
- Date posted
- 6y
So Lewis, I know how horribly annoying and scary and frustrating that can be...
- Date posted
- 6y
She responded to my email, but still not sure! Haven’t seen any reviews from actual people? :/
- Date posted
- 6y
Well, it has a tendency to change the topic... but still exist, even if you somehow get pass one ”memory”. False one;). That is what happened to me. Got rid of one absolutely insane idea after ruminating abt it for 4-5months. Then a month of clarity and now another crazy thought tries to sneak to my life. Also absolutely untrue and false. I am coping somehow. Mindfullness helps and a psychologist that I just met recently maybe might work too. I did send an email to Ali once. She replied but I think it was one of those generated emails where you just change the recipients name?. I think she has good points and insight but now also the business angle as a strong motivator. Cant blame her making a living out of this, but I did not feel like paying her... just my intuition. Hope youll get some help, suitable for you!
- Date posted
- 6y
It will pass. All these themes will. That is sth I know deep down. Be strong!
- Date posted
- 6y
Thank you! I hope it will but I just don’t see it passing! (Easily) because it’s a ‘real event’ what if?!
- Date posted
- 6y
You know it is not real. You wouldnt be thinking is it or is it not if there would be a chance. I know it is so easy to say, and very difficult to believe when it comes to ”my ankle”.
- Date posted
- 6y
I hate how it’s making me feel. All the time, I’m losing my life over it! It’s over a Facebook conversation that happened over 2 years ago, that I remember having but don’t remember anything else about it. 2 months ago I was so so happy. My life was perfect, now it’s gone to rock bottom :/ (Sorry to rant)
- Date posted
- 6y
Lewis you will find hope again. I was in your shoes and got better eventually
- Date posted
- 6y
Over a ‘false memory’? I have bits of hope. But every day is miserable. Some good moments at night time, but never anywhere near happy :/ What helped you?
- Date posted
- 6y
I saw a good OCD Specialist who helped me do ERP
- Date posted
- 6y
If you read other stories, that is the commonality
- Date posted
- 6y
What ERP? I’ve been trying Ali’s methods. I don’t choose to be exposed to the thoughts, they are permanently there. I respond how she says and that has helped lessen it a bit. But not sure I will ever get over it?
- Date posted
- 6y
Be very careful taking advice from people who are not OCD specialist providers. Ali is not a provider. She isn’t licensed to give advice and that’s why it conflicts what research supports today. Exposure Response Prevention and Acceptancd Commitment Therapy are two Evidence Based Practices for OCD. If you want to get better, you’ll need to do them
- Date posted
- 6y
Was your OCD specialist online or in person? Thanks for your help
- Date posted
- 6y
Either, as long as they are an ERP specialist. Email NOCD if you need a connection, they know everyone and are responsive. Honestly, getting to an OCD specialist was the best investment I ever spent. If you don’t have the money, find the money.

- 6y
Thank you. How much are they per session? And this helped you overcome the memory stuff?
- Date posted

It varies based on the specialist

Google ERP for OCD and you will learn all about it

Typically $160-$250 per session
