There are different levels of insight when it comes to OCD, sometimes people can believe that your obsessions are true! What I do is I give my OCD a voice for me itโs a 5 year old named Amanda and whenever she starts talking giving it the voice of a 5 year old girl takes a lot of the punch out of the obsessions and makes it easier to practice accepting uncertainty!

A voice! So do you already know when itโs OCD and when it might not be? Can you tell the difference?

@elsa90๐ฎ๐น OCD thoughts tend to be dark, obsurd and cause a great amount of anxiety so whenever you feel a anxiety provoking thought coming out use your OCD voice

Start with something smaller ( like 60% sure is real/happened) for your ERP challenge and work up to the things you feel 90% sure about.

When you think you made something bad, how do you accept not knowing for sure?

@elsa90๐ฎ๐น Good question. My main ocd is contamination but I used to have hit and run also. As I quick driving back and forth to make sure I didnโt hit anyone, it just past. The feeling does go away. As long as you know you are doing your beat at life, I think you just have to except the thought is there and eventually will die down. I know that is probably not much help. Iโm sorry. I use what my therapist tells me all the time. You could wish and think you will win the lottery but it doesnโt make you win it. You can wish a ceiling to collar and it never does. You just have to except it is just a silly thought that will pass. Another one my therapist told me was donโt react to something that you know is not for certain. Wish on the bad thoughts. I hope i have helped a little.
