I would be happier. I wouldn't worry about everything all the time. I would create again, like I used to. I would leave the house without feeling like I have to constantly body check. I wouldnt care what people thought so much. I would have more motivation to do alllll the things, instead of feeling drained when in a group of people.

I would be so much carefree and happier. I'd spend more time with family and friends and not curled up in my room, stuck with my thoughts and crying over them

I just want you all to know.. we are so close to having the life we want.. it’s hard work and it takes a lot of time effort, and tears... but, we are getting through it... the life you just describe is what we will all have one day.

I would go out of my house instead of constantly feeling guilt and shame. I'd probably be more public about being an artist and musician, share my creative work without the fear of being publicly humiliated and cancelled over random things I would be able to support myself financially and make my family proud instead of being a drain on them. I'm working on it but its been such an uphill battle There was a time I did compulsions all day and believed that if I didn't remember everyone I knew, I might have locked them behind a door when I was a child and they never got out. So I'd make lists of everyone i know in my head and remember the last time I saw them.. I feared the most absurd things, my ocd right now is mostly under control and I believe the worst is behind me. I'm currently trying to get myself to go out more and deal with the extreme anxiety it causes me. One step at a time

you can be everything your OCD prevents you from being. you just have to fight. fight through the feelings of anxiety, resist the compulsions, and you CAN achieve your dreams. giving in to anxiety and compulsions is what perpetuates OCD; everytime you don’t give in to a compulsion you give your brain one less reason to be afraid. it’s not easy. you have to fight, everyday. some days it’ll look like the enemy will win, but keep going strong and fight till the end. everyone has their burden to bear, their own chemical imbalances in their brain, and OCD is just our particular burden. if we fight, we can see 80-95% reduction of symptoms. if we learn how to control our mind, through exercise, meditation (and yoga), therapy, and more, we can overcome OCD. the person you want to be, regardless of OCD or not, depends on your willingness to fight. it takes discipline, and dedication, but anything in like does.
