Umm I think this post may be influenced a littttle bit by intrusive thoughts/fear. I’m not sure if answering is reassuring but I’m sure you’re fine. If it stresses you out a lot I recommend taking a test/ seeing a doctor. But remember that your thoughts are just thoughts and your fears are also just thoughts <3

Cold sores are on your mouth and have nothing to do with being a virgin they have to do with exchanging spit with someone who has herpes.

@dolla0 Could have been when you were a baby, there’s no other way for you to get a cold sore other than coming in contact with someone that has herpes.

@dolla0 Either way if you have cold sores you should see a doctor to become educated on it and get medication to limit outbreaks

Sounds a lot like this had to do with OCD...sounds like this might be an obsession. While I hope I’m not feeding the compulsion of reassurance, sometimes knowledge has helped me quiet certain obsessions. Two different kinds of herpes. —Just like there are different types of coronaviruses, but only Covid-19 caused a global pandemic. The type of herpes virus that causes cold sores is extremely common. Most people have it. It has nothing to do with genital herpes. Best not to kiss anyone or share chapstick, etc while you have any cold sores, but even then, it’s super likely that if you did, they already have that virus or other exposures to it. SUPER COMMON.

@prob crying somewhere Thank you. It’s a hard line to walk, and I’m never sure if I do it correctly, but that’s my uncertainty with which to live. Lol. I think maybe it was Dr. McGrath on a NOCD video who said asking a question one time ONLY was ok. Likewise a little basic knowledge can help me with my obsessions, and if someone else shares that basic info, then I’m not as at risk to compulsively fall into a Google Hole. Hence trying to pay it forward.
