@matt9876 Yeah it'll feel genuine but its really not. I've been there and the more I kept paying attention to it the worse it got.

@M H Are you better right now? Could you say what helped you? I’m so scared to go to psychologist and that they will think that I’m just in denial and they won’t help me :(

@Adaa Yes I am better! Thank God. I would linger on it a lot until I decided to stop paying attention to it. Then it went away. Just ignore the thoughts. Dont ruminate. Don't think about it. Dont check. Nothing. Ull get and feel so much better. Of course if a thought comes in after u have recovered and u start wondering why would u have that thought if u have recovered already, that's ok. It's just another intrusive thought. Just ignore it.

@M H I feel the same, when I look back to when this stTted it seemed much more like ocd and now it feels like it’s become more real. I don’t want it to be real or true so badly. But it feels like I only fancy women and want to be with them but I have a boyfriend who I love so much. Any more recovery tips???

@lkkkk1234 I have a boyfriend I love too, and wen i got hocd, I would feel guilty like as if I was betraying him and I felt gross. Especially because it felt real. I would spend time on my compulsions to test myself to check that it wasnt real. The more I did that tho, the more real it felt, but I knew it wasn't true. So I thought, what if I just stop ruminating and checking, and i did. I just ignored the thoughts and it went away so quick. Now I feel as if all that never even happened. I thank Jesus for helping me. Trust me right now it feels like you will never get out of it, but u will. OCD like to take the thoughts that bother u and keep throwing it at u. So if u pay no attention to the thoughts, then OCD will give up and stop throwing them at u.

@M H I know it’s like some days it has be convinced and some I’m sure it can’t be. I just want to live a nice happy life. I need to stop checking ruminating etc. But why do I get so triggered by people or why do I have to imagine myself in sexual situations etc it’s just awful

Yeah I know it's hard to deal with 😪. If u get triggered by seeing a girl and start thinking ur attracted to her, dont check or imagine a situation or anything. Just move on. If ur getting sexual intrusive thoughts, dont stay on the thought or pay it much attention because then it'll keep coming back. Ignore it and move on.

@lkkkk1234 I guess an ERP approach would be like look at a girl or whatever triggers u and dont do anything if the thoughts come in. I guess I did that in a way. If I got triggered I would pay no attention to it or start compulsing.

@M H I get you that makes total sense. No matter how real it feels I just have to ignore it and get on with my life !!! Thank you. Any other tips?????

@lkkkk1234 Another tip I guess is to remember that its ocd, not u. No matter how genuine it feels, it's not u and it's not true.
