@NOCD Advocate - Cesar O. Today I’m okay. I feel numb in my head and within.I realize my need for Jesus. Giving myself over to these thoughts is not helpful.

@Overcomer I've felt like that. Big hug for you man. The thoughts aren't the issue, it's the compulsions that keep the thoughts coming back, I'm glad you want Jesus in your life. Talk to Him. Go to a silent place, talk to Him out loud ask him to come into your life, allow Him to love you. Tell him your problems and ask for help. He will listen as He always does. May our Lord Jesus Christ embrace you with His love and peace. God bless friend.

@NOCD Advocate - Cesar O. How do I make these changes. I have doubts n thinking of is as a relationship makes it easier on me. I should love God as he loves me rn. You are right that will take time for it to grow.

@Overcomer It's ok to have doubts, we all do but faith doesn't mean having certainty, faith means stepping forward into uncertainty trusting God. The changes will happen eventually but ask yourself what's one small thing you can stop doing that you know isn't good for you. Then try to change that. God loves you as you are, He is all loving and all merciful and all good so don't be afraid to talk to God about everything.

Thanks Cesar! I am so exhausted from resisting compulsions, I am struggling a lot and not looking forward to another exhausting day of feeling anxiety from resisting compulsions 😔

I know how it feels, have you gone through therapy? Resist the compulsions with an attitude, laugh at the intrusive thoughts at how silly they are, even if they don't seem like it call them silly and refuse compulsion, change the attitude in which you dismiss the thoughts that is key, practice erp during the day but not the whole day, go slow on yourself and most importantly have faith. This isn't forever, eventually your brain backs off the anxiety and you're able to just be. You're not alone. Don't be afraid.

@NOCD Advocate - Cesar O. Thanks Cesar, yes I am on my second round of the NOCD program, I did it once but faced a big relapse at the end so we have restarted it. I am feeling really discouraged because I am trying SO HARD 😔

@Madison I am going through a bit of a relapse myself but I know the feeling of trying hard and not seeing much results, give it time have patience and faith, your hard work will eventually pay off. Something important you said was that this is your second time going through it. Remember the first time you started therapy remember how impossible it seemed to shake off ocd but you were able to do it, you relapsed but it happens, it happens to everyone, ocd or anyone with an addiction but we get back up and become stronger, I do feel what you're going through and I'll keep you in my prayers, talk to God as well, cry to Him yell even if you want get your frustration out during prayer but then be still and listen closely to how God responds. It may take some time but He always responds and never abandons us. Take refuge in Him.

Every day living is a win against OCD! Don’t let up, it’s gonna hurt like hell, but we’ll come out of this stronger than ever! Practice your uncertainty, welcome those nasty thoughts, no matter how horrible or taboo, look at them straight up and laugh! This is not our reality, we choose our own paths! Life was never meant to be serious! There’s no such thing as a serious sunrise, serious tree, or serious bird! Laugh and love, learn to forgive yourself, it’s beautiful once you come out on the other side for once!

I’m sure it’s been a rough few days for everyone, maybe even weeks or months. Hell, this last YEAR has been up and down for me! But I wanted to take this moment to congratulate everyone for coming this far. It’s no small feat! OCD is a killer, and it’s good at its job! The fact that all of you are still here fighting is a testament to how strong you are! We may not have the answers or explanation to everything, and that’s okay. We have to stay in the present, not the past or the future. Remember to practice being uncertain! It’s hard to remember the good days we’ve had despite all these horrible ones! There’s no scar to show for happiness, but we’ve got plenty to show for misery and pain. Keep hanging on, you’ve got this!

Yesterday I had a good day after I decided to not let any thought or feeling ruin my day. My intrusive thoughts and hyper awareness of consiousness/thinking was still there. But my day was more than okay. I even felt normal some moments of the day 🤓 Let’s do the same today. Lets live with the ocd instead of trying to escape it at all times.
