i’m sorry:( you could always sit down with your family and talk to them, show them a video on ocd so it has every detail and so they could have a better understanding on what it is. also voice that it makes you upset when they invalidate you and telling you to just get over it. so yeah my advice would be to really talk to them and fully explain ocd. it’s hard for people that don’t have ocd to understand because they think we are being ridiculous which is so frustrating but just have talk and take it from there. wishing you the best:)

Even though that is really good advice, I have tried on multiple occasions to talk to them or show them how difficult it is but they do not listen to what I have to say and if so, the conversation isn't very long and commonly ends in, "Do you really want to be put on meds?" or, "Stop worrying then, you have control over your brain, just stop". Every time I tell them it upsets me, the way they treat me because of my ocd/anxiety, I am also told to get over it. Sorry for the short rant, I do appreciate the advice though. Thank you for trying to help ^^

Can I ask how old you are? Is it a possibility for you to change your living situation or the frequency of being around the invalidating? For me it has been absolutely destructive to my recovery to be around people who are unable to have compassion or accept education about how to help someone with OCD.

I am in my later teen years, not yet old enough to be out of the house, though. Now, I could decrease the frequency of the invalidation by staying in my room all day, but then my family would ask me what's wrong, then when I tell the truth they would call me crazy.
