@Nour04 Again. You’re looking for reassurance about having OCD. Pretty much all of us have felt this way about it. OCD is a doubting disease after all. You have to sit with the uncertainty of it.

@Nour04 You can’t know with certainty that it’s OCD. That’s kind of the whole deal with OCD. The more you try to prove to yourself that it’s OCD the deeper you’re digging a hole to get stuck in. It’s like scratching at a mosquito bite. Feels like it helps in the moment but it makes it worse. Just give yourself a simple “yup that’s an intrusive thought. There’s a possibility it isn’t but I can’t know for sure right now” and then do you best to just go do something else unrelated, whether you’re feeling anxious or not. It’s hard work not doing compulsions like researching or even internal reassurance but it is worth it. Eyes on the prize.

OCD actually is a neurodivergency. Anxiety is not. People with OCD have a different bran wiring. It counts as a disability for that reason. I suggest looking more into it because OCD is a neurodivergency.

OCD used to be identified as an anxiety disorder, but as of late it’s been separated from anxiety disorders and is recognized as a neurodivergency. That’s link explains it.

@Vivian08Vivian I’m sorry that the link was no sufficient. https://exceptionalindividuals.com/neurodiversity/other -neurodivergence/ If you could please take time on your own to look it up, you would understand how it’s a neurodivergency. It is listed and firmly recognized as a neurodivergency. Neurodivergencies can encompass disorders. Neurodivergent means to have a different brain function based off of a different structure. OCD fits that. People with OCD have a different brain function from people being neuro typical.

@stop. It really only takes a second to look up. Neurodivergencies are relatively new so I understand the confusion but it IS a neurodivergency

@Vivian08Vivian No. I mean the neurological structures in the brain are different. So for depression that isn’t the case. When we talk about neurodivergencies we are literally saying that the neurological structures are different. There’s studies that show that the neurological brain structures of people with OCD is atypical. Whereas with anxiety and depression the structures are typical, but there’s an issue with maybe serotonin or a chemical. It’s different. I’ve done a lot of research as well. OCD is technically something we are born with because of the neurological structure, but is not onset until later due to stress or something else. OCD can be helped with therapy and medication just like other neurodivergencies, but it cannot be cured. I can only explain it so much which is why I suggest you look into it some more.
