Yes this is my main theme. My main compulsion is that I constantly check to see if I still feel guilty which keeps the guilt alive. I had to learn to let the thought come in and out on its own- don’t hold on or push it out- don’t try to answer the question. Look up how to stop ruminating by Dr Michael Greenburg
I have real event ocd and currently in treatment. The best thing to do is to lean in to the ocd and do not argue with it. Maybe it’s true and maybe it’s not. That is hard but living with uncertainty is a part of life. And my real event ocd causes false memories and the like. Hope this helps.
