Hi! Thanks! How does it manifest for you? What do compulsions looks like? At the moment if I’m not constantly trying to be mindful, my mind goes back into the same monologue loop of trying panicking that I’ve assaulted someone I had sex with, and then going through all the reasons that doesn’t make sense. Kind of like “what if she thinks you assaulted her? That would be terrible. No, that doesn’t make sense because…but what if she was lying about that…no because…but what about this?” Etc etc. Does that resonate for yourself?

@Loomin You have to stop arguing with yourself. It just makes it worse. If you stop you will see it with more clarity in time.

@Anonymous Thank you, I’m trying to practice mindfulness and labelling thinking as thinking.

Yes I mentally review things I have said and what my intentions were from two years ago in an endless cycle.

Thank you. I can’t get away from thinking about something I felt guilty about at the time.

I suffer from religious ocd. My only goal in life is to live in God's will and to serve Him - to live and enjoy His eternal purposes & His presence. Jesus Christ is my life. That is my only desire on this earth, this short trip into eternity, and it's being stripped by ocd thoughts and intrusive thoughts 24-7. I have read many times that ocd can 'feel real', and this is true, our minds lie to us because of fear and anxiety we can't and were never meant to carry. I have begged and tormented myself in every way to find an answer from God. I think His answer may be that this is OCD, but I'm not sure. I started therapy again because I am so exhausted and this had stolen so much of my life in a spiral of negativity, depression, and constant anxiety & intrusive thoughts. I have spent about 2 years trying to figure out if my thoughts are real or not, especially with ocd it can deceive so easily as a spiritual matter when in reality it is just a thought, which is confusing and scary to say the least. Can anyone share their experiences with this sensation? No matter what the theme is... Thank you & Praying for your comfort

I haven't been able to read about experiences similar to mine when it comes to my perfectionism OCD so I was wondering if anyone had any "uncommon" experiences.

I’m 19 and struggle with health anxiety, contamination, harm, and magical thinking OCD and would love to meet people with similar experiences and hardships because I have never had an opportunity for such a supportive community!
