this post is so comforting, i relate to all of it pretty much! i’m currently taking an SSRI, and i think i’m experiencing these scary parts of recovery. this makes so much sense! phew. i’ve felt like i’m getting worse, but it’s probably me just getting better..? i don’t know but i hope it’s worth it!

I am also on an SSRI! 10mg of lexapro:) not sure if it is doing the job tbh, but recovery is a super weird process where everything feels wrong but deep down you know its good for ya 💛

@alexisrae1999 Don’t know if it helps. But my psychiatrist was saying he usually gets people with ocd up to 15 to 20 mg, and that usually starts showing more signs of improvement. I’m starting Zoloft tomororw, so we shall see how that goes

@alexisrae1999 ahhh 50 mg of zoloft for me! :) i am very uncertain if it’s working or not either. but we shall see! medicine is always trial and error, so best of luck to all of us!! you are 100% right. i never really look at it that way anymore.. i’m always so focused on the negative side effects that i leave no room for hope for the positive effects that i will hopefully receive afterwards!

@Sasha Oh really? My specialist said I should stay at 10 during treatment. Hmm, maybe I should talk to my doctor about upping the dosage 🤔. I wish you luck with your Zoloft! I've heard good things 😊

@bellag I've heard that a lot of people have to try a number of different meds until one sticks. I guess its a trial and error type of thing for sure! I agree, its super easy to get caught up in the negatives because we expect perfection out of ourselves, but expecting that perfection might actually be the thing hindering our progress 🤷♀️. I wish you luck with your journey girl! :)

@alexisrae1999 Yea I was on 10 , like a decade ago and I didn’t see a huge difference. So I told him about it when I saw him. He told me that for ocd he likes to increase it. He’s a pretty established psychiatrist here in LA, so I assume he knows what he’s talking about. But who knows! Talk to your doc and see what they say. It really is so much trial and error. I hope we all get the meds to where we want. :)

@alexisrae1999 Glad to hear! I sort of cook her food, we need to make her special food and certain texture because of a previous surgery she had in her throat. But it’s definitely worth the effort to see her eating and enjoying things!
