When I started doing research to learn more about OCD, I stumbled across an amazing book that was so helpful. Pure OCD by Chrissie Hodges. She really goes into detail about how people with OCD think and act. She one of her major themes is around throwing up. But in my opinion, the most helpful part of the book is that she takes the reader along while she does ERP exposures. Ashe tells you exactly what to expect. I believe she also does videos for NOCD. If you are questioning whether or not you have OCD or struggle with Pure OCD I highly recommend this book.
Another great resource is Loving Naomi by Meghan Newkirk. It is fiction, but based on Meghan's real life struggles. The main character has OCD. So does the author. I have been in contact with Meghan in real life, and she is the real deal. Meghan also has a blog about OCD. meghannewkirkwrites.com All of these are what first made me believe I had OCD. I hope this helps someone else.
