I started Zoloft about a month ago. It has really helped with my anxiety and my mind has slowed down tons. But it effects everyone differently. Consult with your doctor and they will try and find a good fit for you. :)

Personally I didn't like it. It helped me slow my brain down a little but not much, and it caused awful insomnia and drowsiness. I'm thriving on Prozac right now. But everyone is different! Talk with your doctor about it for sure. Tons of people do very very well with Zoloft. :)

I have been on it over five years originally for a panic disorder, but it has lost effect over the last two years and I am going to have to switch next week. It hasn’t done much for my ocd but by the time I was diagnosed with ocd it wasn’t really effective anymore so it may have been effective if I had ocd earlier 🤷🏼♀️

Zoloft was a wonder drug for me truly!!! I was on a pretty high dose, but it got me through about 7 years before losing effectiveness. I absolutely loved it and think it can be so successful for people with OCD

@Anonymous My psychiatrist said that in about 30% of people an ssri will just stop working and they don’t know why 🤷🏼♀️

I’m on Zoloft right now!! I started in December 2020. I’m taking 350mg per day now. It’s working pretty well for me, I can notice a difference in the strength and frequency of my obsessions, compulsions, anxiety, depression, etc. I think I may have had some side effects related to it but they didn’t last very long (effects on sleep and digestion, acid reflux). That being said, it hasn’t magically made all my problems dissappear. I’m going to see my psychiatrist soon and see what we’ll do. You never know how meds will work for you until you try them, so I would say if you want to you should go for it!

Wait… 350 mg? I was told that 200 mg was the highest approved limit for Zoloft?

@Have a sunflower🌻 Actually on second glance : “For ocd, doses up to 400 have been used”

@Sasha Hmm I wonder how safe that is 🤔 I’ll have to mention it to my psychiatrist

@Have a sunflower🌻 I’ve heard the same! On the iocdf website it even says up to 200mg. Higher doses are more likely for ocd than for other disorders. So I was a bit worried, but I trust my psychiatrist right now and everything is okay.

@krisbliss Oh ya I’m sure your psychiatrist knows what to do! I’m sorry if my comment raised any concern for you! I’m just shocked my psychiatrist didn’t mention it😒.

For starters I was on this medicine before i remember the first few weeks were very scary and debilitating. I don’t remember why I stopped taking it , it was about 7 months ago. but I just recently started back because my ocd and anxiety has been off the chain. I keep having bad thoughts about the side affects and I’m terrified like “ what if I have a seizure” can anybody share an experience? Anyone on Zoloft here. Thanks !

Does anyone else take zoloft? What is it like? Any side effects?
