Keeping your body healthy definitely helps to keep your mind healthy, but i reccomend that you get a blood test before taking any supplements, unless you know that your diet doesn't provide you with sertain vitamins and minerals. My doctor, for example, recommend me to take d3, but you never know what you in particular need.

Also you can always experiment with teas, different herbal ones help to calm down

Thanks. I will say that currently I barely eat. Like, I might eat once a day. I’m doing very poorly. Working on it but wanted to add some supplements in the meantime.

@BritD Replying to myself. I should specify it’s not an earring disorder, I just completely lose my appetite when I’m anxious

@BritD I believe in you :). Perhaps try multivitamins in the meantime? Might sound basic, but thats what people usually recommend for those who struggle with food in general. Also maybe some form of protein, like powder or bars.

@BritD I have had a lot of appetite loss due to anxiety. Eating is super important tho to keep your body stable so your mind can be stable. My OCD is always made worse by not eating enough, so I drink a lot of boost/ensure protein shakes. When I’m really unable to do even that, there are these things made by nestle called benecalorie, it’s 1.5 tbsp of liquid that has 330 calories and 7g of protein. They’re pretty flavorless so you can mix them into most drinks or smoothies or something like that.

My psychiatrist prescribed me folic acid to help with getting up in the morning. Does it work for me? I’m not sure lol but I guess there is science behind it

I just got my SSRI’s and I’m kinda nervous to take them so I was wondering if anyone has had a good or bad experience with them.

Hey everyone, I’m curious if anyone here is managing their OCD without SSRIs. I’ve personally struggled with side effects in the past such as low libido and emotional numbness. I have plans to have a family and kids in the future, so SSRIs don’t feel like a long-term solution for me—I’m especially afraid of PSSD (post-SSRI sexual dysfunction). Are any of you managing OCD with alternatives like Wellbutrin, SNRIs, Adderall, NAC, Myo-inositol or any other supplements. Even approaches like the ketogenic diet or other functional methods? I read some studies about how Keto diet has helped some people put their OCD in remission. I’d love to hear what’s actually working for you. Trigger Warning: Sometimes hearing that people can’t manage OCD without SSRIs can be discouraging, but I’m staying hopeful that there are sustainable alternatives out there. Thanks in advance for sharing.

Can people please share their experiences on very low dose medications for their OCD? Maybe ones that have worked well with little side effects? Anything is helpful & thank you
