For a concussion, do not take Advil or ibuprofen. However you can take acetaminophen (Tylenol) with a concussion. Have you had anything more than a headache? Nausea, dizziness, etc? It is almost impossible to have bleeding in the brain without other symptoms, especially severe ones such a memory loss, confusion, fainting, etc. Also, if you were not knocked unconscious you would probably only have a minor concussion. It is best to avoid screen use as much as possible with concussions. I recommend taking some Tylenol, drinking lots of water and calling your doctors office first thing in the morning, at the very least you will be able to speak with a nurse about your symptoms. I know this from experience with a couple concussions and a TBI, so feel free to respond with any symptoms/questions and I will try to help you based on my own experiences. (I am not a doctor or medical professional.)

I think that the best thing to do for tonight is try and limit screen time and bright lights until you can speak with a doctor in the morning. Luckily, the symptoms you described aren’t very severe and you most likely don’t have a severe concussion. While you may have one, you seem to have good cognitive function and motor skills (which is great!). Therefore, treat it as a regular concussion for tonight as you would have in the past. From personal experience, I can tell you that you would probably be very aware of it being worse. I had to go to physical therapy for almost a year as well as neurologists, etc. I was knocked unconscious and couldn’t remember what day it was when I woke up, and I was unaware of the fact that you shouldn’t take Advil and took some that I had in my pocket almost immediately and kept skiing for the rest of the day. It was Christmas and I was three states away from home, didn’t see my doctor for two weeks and continued to use screens religiously. Even then, I did not have bleeding or any severe long term damage, so I do not think you have to be freaked out. Although I completely understand where you are coming from, I have thoughts like this often.

I had a judo tournament on Saturday and I noticed that in my left eye there was a huge blur and fog and I ignored it and kept fighting my 3 other matches. After I had a headache and have been nauseous since. And also I have a specific part of my head that just aches really bad on my ride side and I’ve had the worst toothache on my right side jaw since then

I’ve had a concussion before so I’m pretty positive I do have one but I get freaked out about it being worse

Ah thank you! I think it might just be my toothache that’s making my headache so much worse!

yes! It definitely could be, I meant to touch base on that as well. Your teeth and jaw are very close to your sinuses and can kind of compound discomfort in that region! Tylenol should help with that as well, and drinking room temperature water is helpful if it is sensitive to cold. You can also try holding a cold compress where your tooth and/or headache is to relieve some of the pain and pressure you may be feeling. I hope this helped!
