It’s important to remember that OCD can take away the feeling of “just right” and make us feel things are out of sorts even when they aren’t. When our anxiety goes away we sometimes experience what we call “the backdoor spike” or anxiety about the lack of anxiety. Sometimes we confuse those anxious big feelings with excitement and that sense of security or “normal” feelings like you talk about can feel boring or wrong. If deep down you’d actually like to stay with your person, I’d consider finding new ways to connect with your partner. OCD often wants you to “figure it out” and find certainty in our relationships. If you are able to practice mindfulness instead it can be really helpful!
