First off, great job identifying that you need something more specific for OCD treatment! OCD treatment really does require a specialized treatment that other non-specializing therapists will not be able to provide. We do that here at NOCD. Whenever you're ready, go to our website or your app and you can schedule a free 15 minute call with a member from our care team. They will take down your basic information and tell you a little bit about how treatment will go, what to expect etc. You can use our website also to identify therapists in your area to determine who might be the best fit for you. Then, when the care team member offers you available appointments and therapists who suit your needs, you will be able to know who may be a good fight / who may not be a good fit. The care team will take care of all of the specifics including collecting your insurance information and all of that. Let me know if you have any other questions!

What does a therapy session with an OCD specialist look like for y’all? This is something I’ve always wondered because I’ve only had one OCD therapist through NOCD. Our sessions always looked like sit there and “reduce anxiety” meaning don’t think for a few minutes and take a few deep breaths and rate your anxiety level every couple of minutes. AND that was it. Is it supposed to look like that? Because I haven’t seen anyone on this app talk about this or how their therapy sessions go. I’m considering restarting therapy but I want to know how therapy goes for you guys before I go back to the same specialist. Any input would be appreciated :)

hey guys, i've been seeing a general therapist because i didn't know if i had ocd or not, but then she did end up diagnosing me with ocd so now i know i do (i also went through nocd and they diagnosed me too but stopped because its too expensive) the thing is, my current therapist is a general therapist and is NOT specialized in ocd care and hasn't given ERP before, she's learning for me and we've done two exporsure sessions but i can't stop from thinking about how she's not the upmost qualified for this, she's helping though and i've gotten better since i've started seeing her, idk if it's just my ocd being picky or what, anyone go through something similar and have any advice?
