As a cautionary tale from someone who spent the past 10+ years a dedicated meditator I would strongly encourage you to research the potential adverse side effects of meditation before proceeding. Even daily use of meditation apps can bring on unwanted experiences and people with OCD appear to be predisposed to these. If you have experienced existential or somatic themes you stand the risk of revisiting them in a very intense way. Meditation can be extremely relaxing and helpful for a period of time and then out of nowhere everything changes. This isn’t guaranteed and many will never experience these aspects of the practice. However, please take the time to visit the following website and familiarize yourself with the potential side effects and read people’s personal stories. I’m happy to answer questions you may have. I stopped meditating this past January and have experienced a significant reduction in OCD symptoms as well as freedom from extended episodes of depression and heightened anxiety.
