These exposures will be brutal, but necessary. But if you never truly learn about who God is and what he thinks about you then the exposures will never be enough. What helps us except the possibility of what God does with us as a result of our intrusive thoughts is to understand his character and his love for us. The truth will set you free. I personally don’t have this theme ; tho, I do have a fear to some extent of hell, only bc I am homosexual and catholic so it is scary to have those thoughts and I hope it not true .

I’ve struggled with all of these things for quite some time. My day suggests an alternate path. Yes, you’re going to have to do exposures over these things to help get over the fear. But what you also need, is to understand who God really is. Take time to put the focus on him instead of you. Understand his character who he says he is, etc. This will help you in the long run as other thoughts start to come in.

Thank you! When I was younger, I dealt with blasphemous thoughts A LOT. More recently I’ve been able to remove some of the guilt and judgment from those. However, I still have such a fear of hell and the possibility of that eternity.

@ac_adams (she/her) Yeah I deal with that heavily . I learned about the unpardonable sin last year , and now I’m always having thoughts . I absolutely hate that I even learned about it . How old are you ? And how did you get relief over it ? Please give advice

@Junior96! Ah, yes!!! I had a season of OCD where all I could think about was the unpardonable sin. So so so scary. I’m so sorry you’re facing this. It’s debilitating. I feel like part of the way that I got through it at the time was reassurance, but now I know that is a compulsion so I don’t want to steer you in the wrong direction.

@ac_adams (she/her) That’s why i stress everyday because I’m scared . If I had peace about it in spite of what I’m going through , I wouldn’t worry . How did you get peace and clarity ? Did God speak to you ?

@Junior96! I believe that God shows grace and love over you. What helped me back then was realizing that my worry over committing this sin was probably a sign of how much I ~did not~ want to commit that sin. And then additionally that if blasphemy was all I was focusing on, then there would be no way to reap and sow other parts of God’s will. I know this is so hard. You’re stronger than you know.
