Intrusive thoughts can be really upsetting and scary. Still, they are just thoughts, which is not the same as actions.
@z :) - Yeah that could be. Intrusive thoughts can really any thought that is distressing and unwanted. The anxiety created aroung the thought can cause the thought to be more noticeable and recurring. Rumination can actually act as a compulsion which prolongs the cycle of obsessive thoughts.
