Not going to lie, when I first started Prozac, about a month and a half ago, my symptoms got worse before they got better. It may be different for you but just sharing my honest opinion. Now I’m on 50mg and it seems to be helping me. Hoping the medicine helps you 🙏

That’s what I’m afraid of! Ugh, how long do you think they felt *worse*

@Anon1294 I’d just start with a low dosage until your body gets used to it being in your system because I’m very medicine sensitive so it made me feel off for a few weeks but after about a full month of consistently taking the right dosage (50mg), I feel much better than I did before. Not 100% better but better than I was.

@oneday🤍 I am the EXACT same way with medication, I’m extremely sensitive so I’m very afraid and apprehensive to start it. Idk if I can mentally handle it getting worse

I don’t mean to scare you, just wanted to share my honest opinion.

No you’re not scaring me! It’s helpful because I am the same way with medication so you’re telling me what I can expect. I appreciate it!!

I’ve been on Prozac before and it was A.MA.ZING. Literally took all the thoughts away and felt 100% better. Had no side effects at all. Went up to 40mg

If you don’t mind me asking why did you go off of it? I’m afraid to need to take it for the rest of my life

@Anon1294 I stopped taking it because I got pregnant and I was doing fine so I didn’t think I needed it anymore. After four months of not being on it I relapsed and I started it again during my pregnancy but it didn’t work while I was pregnant and it wasn’t safe to go higher with her being pregnant. Then I switch to Zoloft but it didn’t work that great. I had the baby and now I’m tapering off Zoloft and switching back to Prozac currently. What’s the big deal of having to take it the rest of your life? Some people just need medicine and that’s OK.

I feel you. I contemplated getting off of it when I started because I was so depressed and crying all the time. But, I think you’ll feel a lot better once you’re on the medication for a bit. It’s rough at first but it’s worth it once you find the right dosage.

Hey girl I would like to connect with you. I am also a mom with pocd and you had commented on a previous post that you would be interested in talking if I needed. I feel like I could really benefit from speaking to a fellow momma that knows how I’m feeling 🥺

Hi everyone, I’m 23 and have been on Zoloft since I was 16. For the past couple months I’ve been having panic attacks more and I’m sick of feeling like a zombie everyday. My boyfriend said I’m very sad and unhappy then when I first met him 2 years ago…. He thinks it’s the medicine. Throughout the years I have upped and lowered my medication, but now, I feel as though it’s not helping. Either it was too much where I didn’t feel emotions at all like very scary stuff or it wasn’t enough to help me. I was given 5mg of Lexapro to try…. I’m scared to take it. All I know is how Zoloft is. I don’t want to go crazy on it, be allergic to it, etc. I feel like I’m going to trip myself out when I take it and not actually feel the difference. I could really use some positive feedback I really just want to be a normal human😭

I was diagnosed with OCD and I started Prozac 10 days ago. I have struggled with intrusive taboo sexual thoughts for 12+ years (I’m 24) but now I feel like it’s turning into feelings. I’ve never done anything to anyone or nor do I wish to ever. I am just scared of my own brain if this is something I actually want. My psychiatrist said I should feel better/start getting clarity after 2 weeks. But I keep feeling worse and worse. Anyone else has experience with Prozac and how it went for them?
