It's worth appreciating the way you are dealing with your mom, and trying to make her understanding. It's very very difficult if someone does not understand what we are going through, and it's always frustrating when people close to us are not able to understand us, and we are left feeling lonely.

It's like people who have been through this will only understand this, others can only imagine

charice, I am so sorry your mom has treats you this way. My mom is wonderful, but it gets difficult at times when it comes to explaining my pure ocd and my feelings. It does feel lonely at times. Your comments brightened my mood and reminded me that there are wonderful people in the world who DO understand!?

@bottsleben, I don’t blame her for not understanding, it is a pretty weird thing to try and wrap your head around. She is a great mom but I have a hard time communicating my problems to her at times. Thanks for your support :)

Hey Cherice, thanks for appreciating. It gives me feel more confidence and makes me feel better. And I feel its sometimes okay to be angry at our loved ones, because we get angry at people we love. We don't get angry at strangers or people we don't love. And yes, you are not alone. Lots of love ❤

@annalise, I understand, sometimes, it can be hard to communicate our problems with our loved ones. I have been going through therapy and it's helping me overcome OCD, I feel hopeful now.

Yeah, okay. Even I don't remember when it started with me, maybe since a child, I guess. I have recently started with the treatment, after suffering for about 12_14 years. I feel hopeful now.

The way I managed it, because my mum also didn't understand and would get mad at me, is to find an article which explains exactly what it is and what OCD can do to you/make you think etc. I just sent her the link to this article and asked her to read it. She still doesn't fully understand, but shes a lot more calm now and it helped a lot

Sometimes avoiding things makes it worse because you teach yourself to fear it.
