Ok . How effective is it and how long did it take for it to work? I’m on Serequel high dose and it’s not working or it works temporarily I need a solid Med that helps at least 80%of my symptoms I feel like I should change meds but my doctor said any med I take might work or not work abs it can take up to 3months to results

Trintellix has been the best antidepressant for me so far, I’ve gone through most of the SSRI’s and found them lacking. Some bad side effects, Trintellix is an antidepressant as well except not an ssri, it hits other receptors in the brain that ssri’s are not hitting. I am more calm than I’ve ever been on this med, it helped my depression and ocd instrusjve thoughts a ton, limited side effects , I can think clearly again, no sexual side effects, in fact most report it gives you more of a drive and I have to agree. The only drawback is cost. If you don’t have insurance it can be costly, even my copay with insurance is $50 for this med. it’s on patent until 2027 so that means until then the cost won’t come down because there will be no generic formula on this. You may try contacting the pharmaceutical company directly and see if they can help with cost. It’s been a game changer for me and a lot more people are finding out how well this works for some people with ocd.

Hey friends, I hope you all are well. I just wanted to check in and ask people's experiences about being on medication. I have had OCD pretty much my whole life, just got recently diagnosed 4 months ago and my therapist recommended that I get on meds for it so I have a psychiatrist appointment set up. I'm a little apprehensive about getting on them, but I've realized that I do have some sort of chemical imbalance in my brain that plays a part in my OCD and anxiety. I would love to hear anyones experiences or words of encouragement. Thank you, I hope you all are well.

Medication for OCD? Hello all, 19 male here, this seems like a cool community that isn’t nearly as triggering as reddit. I have pretty severe bouts of existential thinking or fear of going crazy ( psychosis ) after some pretty heavy mushroom trips a few years ago, I know logically I should be fine but I do know what it’s like to lose it and it’s scary. Currently I deal with relationship focused OCD, it’s all day from before I even open my eyes. I want things to work out with my girlfriend badly. Also I can come close to a panic attack sometimes which perpetuates everything. Anyway, I mention the fear of going crazy because the way my anxiety/derealization makes me feel is that I’m not mentally stable cause I feel out of it or unreal. I saw that a lot of anxiety and depression medication can cause psychosis and I feel like I could use some help in getting ahead of my OCD because the compulsions are had not to give into when I’m in such distress/not knowing. Plus overall I just feel like I have no idea how I feel about close to anything. Anyone relate about that ?

Hi everyone, I’m new to the community. I was diagnosed with OCD just a couple of months ago and have been doing some reading and other research to try and understand the disorder. With this, I have been actively seeing a great therapist who has been helpful to build tools to deal with my intrusive thoughts ( contamination OCD is my worst theme). Do help learn to deal with the compulsions, I start on Sertraline or “Zoloft” I believe since November 2024. Currently I’m on 50mg and have been doing this for just over a month. My question for those who are also taking Sertraline and it has been successful, how do you know it has really provided a benefit and how long did it take to get there? I sometimes feel the medication works, and sometimes I feel it doesn’t (maybe that’s my OCD trying to mess with things). Thanks!
