Yes! Wow, I've never seen someone lay it out like this before. I've always had these thoughts anytime I tried to help and I feel so fake

I understand this exactly. It will often drive me to not do anything at all because I can never tell what my true intentions are, or I feel like an imposter. I am learning to just do it anyway, though, because I can run back and forth in my mind about my intentions all day, but the one thing that I DO know is that it would make the other person happy, and sometimes that's enough for the act.

Yep it’s always says I’m doing something good because I want to be praised.

I definitely relate. I think to myself that maybe part of it is a selfish thing and if it is, who cares, but it never was entirely. The primary driver was always the good of others even if I benefit from it in some way.

You are not a psychopath and if you were doing something for someone is it so bad that it makes you feel good too?
