Hocd affecting sex life

I’ve been having Hocd thoughts lately- they come and go every few months. The months without them are so nice and the months with them are hell. I am on Prozac which helps but it makes me have a low sex drive. Because of this, I don’t have interest in having sex with my boyfriend often. Because of low interest, my Hocd makes me think I’m not attracted to him and that it’s a “sign” when that’s not it at all. It’s a vicious cycle. Does anyone else have this happen?

1000% understand. I am on Prozac as well and my libido is so low which than ocd loves and takes as I’m not attracted to my fiancé or men.

I completely feel you. I’m not on Prozac, but in general it’s impossible to be horny when one is too in their head. Thus making you feel like the thoughts/concerns are actually true but for me I’ve realized as I get better there’s genuinely zero problem with that. In fact, once you start getting over the hump you’ll be hornier than ever! You got this hang in there

@Daisy1398 Have you started with a NOCD therapist? That’s the most important step Otherwise, there’s so much that can go wrong and worsen it (don’t worry you can ALWAYS recover, but if you don’t try to do the work yourself, it’ll be less work for you and your therapist when you inevitably do start)

@Daisy1398 It’s tough for me to give you advice that won’t just turn into new compulsions is what I’m getting at. The biggest thing for me was to stop solving. Immediately. Recovery comes in the act of NOT solving. Can’t think you’re way out of this that’s exactly why you’re unable to be horny and enjoy yourself

@Daisy1398 Trust me they have to know OCD specifically and if they don’t do something called ERP with you then you need a new therapist. It’s the only way ❤️

Ohhh buddy. How I wish I could introduce you to your future self. You need to trust me on this one. This is the absolute darkest and mos tcinfusing time of your life. This shit is not a joke. Its hard bro especially now. I think my ocd is now tricking me with trans women. All bc of a dream and even that nothing sexual went down but i guess in the dream i had a crush on a trans women. Now my ocd is trying to make me think i like women with dicks. When will this bs end man 😣.

Im taking no meds and i feel disgusted sometimes . Me and my girlfriend barely have sex , when we do im getting intrusive thoughts or testing my self with thoughts. I feel lose of attraction which makes me feel like im bi . I hate it

Brother I feel you I went through the exact same thing. The key is learning the tools and having sex anyway. Eventually they dissipate and sex gets better than ever but that’s impossible to see from the spot you’re in right now so I’m just gonna send you some love and promise you with treatment it DOES get better. Goes away entirely actually eventually

I haven’t been diagnosed with it, but I feel like nothing else describes me better. If you do have this feeling and thoughts, what are some ways to lower your anxiety ?

Hocd is literally a clown in my head.

Like I can’t think straight. This is making me doubt everything I’ve thought about myself and even makes me feel like I like the thoughts when I know I don’t. Like I would be less anxious at a time while I still have the thoughts and my mind would go “oh so you like it you must be gay” or the other one where I’m not anxious and I think of my attraction for girls that I’ve had my whole life and my mind goes “see now you’re not into them you’re gay” like it’s so stupid but so effective. I clearly remember being into girls my whole life but my mind is making me believe that all these attractions and feelings for women were all fake or “a thing of the past”. But I can still get aroused by women but I have this weird anxiety going on which brings these sensations/feelings and it’s so weird. Today I’ve spent my whole day thinking about it like I’ve been doing for 5 months now. I know that this aint normal but my mind just won’t let me live in peace. I never cared about my sexuality cuz I simply liked women my whole life but now my sexuality is a fundamental philosophy. I hate this.

I don’t know what to do anymore, this started nearly a year ago and caused so much stress and panic attacks over the thought of loosing my boyfriend. Now it just feels real and that he always liked girls and suppressed it (but like the boys i always liked in the past were real feelings they had to be and with my boyfriend i love him) but i haven’t got much anxiety now feels like i want the thoughts and that they don’t bother me even tho they used to, this seems to happen every time i get a lil better, idk just feels so true and that’s what i acc want with no stress, just a lil scared.
