POCD, ZOCD and libido

I can relate in a way as I also have a high libido and intrusive thoughts. Even my themes were the same as yours. When I was a teen my theme was incest intrusive thoughts, then in my early to mid adult hood it was zoophillia intrusive thoughts and now its pedophillia intrusive thoughts which started around 25-26. I feel as though having a high libido makes things worse since it can make the instrusive thoughts feel more real. It also can ruin orgasms for me if an instrusive thought pops up as I'm orgasming. As bad as it is the only way I can prevent those intrusive is if I focus my attention entirely, like watching porn. I used to be able to get off to just thinking sexual thoughts but now the intrusive thoughts ruin that. It also makes having sex with my boyfriend harder and my OCD has affected our sex life since I'm so afraid of intrusive thoughts popping up during. I don't have any advice or know what one should do about this but thats how it feels for me.

I would so love to have a proper chat with other OCD sufferers, or if possible only with people who suffer from P/ZOCD... but I could only do that on a secure website, as there are too many people out there, who don't understand, that we are not a threat to others, if at all, we are a threat to ourselves.

I'm sorry you're going through this, but I hope my insight can help. I get the slightest thoughts of ZOCD here and there, but what has helped me is that I saw a study years ago that included women that where shown clips of sex from all sorts of couple variations (straight, gay, lesbian) and even animals (monkeys to be exact) and they concluded that while straight men where only attracted to females, women where able to get "aroused" by all types of sex and somewhat by animals... but that doesn't necessarily mean they want to have sex with animals. I do think it's just the thought of sex. I know it sounds complicated but that's what's been keeping me okay. I just think, oh, sex, cool !! But if you still struggle with these thoughts, you have to run head on with those thoughts instead of avoiding them. You've got to respond, "maybe, maybe not." Or delay the response. I know it sounds easier than done but you are not alone, POCD ZOCD theme or not because your OCD is not special. OCD doesn't care about the content. It only cares about your reaction. So stop giving it so much energy and just accept that they're there because you've been giving them attention. It takes time to lessen the compulsions. Best of luck. Yes, I relate. Recently it has been that seeing children or hearing the words "child" or "13 year old" or other stuff related to that would result in me focusing on whether or not I have a "groinal response" but also "tensing my muscles there" as you said. A sign to me that I am not actually a nonce but simply have POCD is that this also started to spread to other areas, like seeing regular adults who I do not find attractive, or, like you, hearing about sex in any capacity. Unfortunately this has all gotten so bad right as a parent of mine has suffered an injury that essentially requires me to be strong and responsible. When all I want to do when I think about these things is disappear into thin air.

Really no one can relate? I feel more convinced, that I really "only" suffer from OCD, if other sufferers share the same experiences with their OCD...

Thanks for answering! Yeah, I get that. I always have intrusive thoughts while sexually engaging, no matter, if I'm alone, or with a partner. I never could enjoy sex to it's fullest, as OCD never allowed me to let go completely. POCD and ZOCD only ever started, when I was 21, but before the fear of getting pregnant made it hard to enjoy it, or my Magical Thoughts OCD got in the way. As I needed to do compulsions against them, I couldn't relax. I had 35 minutes, 30 minutes and many years later 5 minutes, in the past 17 years, where I felt relaxed, OCD free and like myself.

I use a social media chat and gaming site. One send messages like here, chat one on one and chat in rooms and the chat is just so much better, than the messaging, but thanks for your suggestion.
