When people say trust your gut it really triggers me. My gut feeling is telling me I'm gay, I feel that it's real. People always say that deep down you know your sexual orientation, but it's like deep down I feel I'm a lesbian? I just hate all of this.

I feel the same way, it’s like every fiber of my body is telling me I’m a lesbian and my body wants to reject my husband and it scares me to death cause I don’t want to leave him and if I leave him for a false thing, then I’ve ruined the best guy I’ve ever married and tore my family apart
I completely get it. I love my boyfriend to death and I wouldn’t want to leave him over some thing like this! I plan on marrying him someday but that thought scares becauseee I feel like I’m gonna realize I’m gay in the future or the thoughts are still gonna be there.
I’m sorry. I am married with young children and this has tormented me (same theme). I have a lot of shame and people have always told me I am a person of integrity. I think I value that and ocd is attacking it…telling me I am a lie and so is my marriage and family. It is so much to bear. You are not alone.
Totally relate. Also all this stuff today about “be your authentic self” is really triggering. I don’t know if there’s a theme this ties into (other than SOOCD) maybe call it “intuition ocd” but it seems common.

I feel sick to my stomach, a few days ago I knew I was straight and could picture my life with my bf again. The anxiety has really lessend and Im more depressed now. I'm 100% convinced I am lesbian even tho I have never had sexual attraction to women, found them pretty but never wanted to be with them. My mind is only picturing me being with women now and it feels like a pit in my stomach. I don't feel emotion now, I'm also on my period. I don't want to be lesbian. I want to be with my boyfriend and have the life I pictured with him. My memory is so dissorted right now. I don't think there's anything wrong with being lesbian, it's just not for me and now that makes me feel like I'm homophobic.
So I’ve talked to a couple of gay people and they all told me the same thing. They ALWAYS knew they liked guys and they have ever gotten aroused by a woman in their life. In fact they told me that they always found a woman’s body disgusting. Looking back in my life I’ve been attracted to girls for as long as I can remember even before puberty. All my fantasies were about girls and I can’t remember a time where I felt the same for a guy (because it never happened). At the end I can still get aroused by women and you can clearly see how much stupid this obsession about being gay is. Gay people can’t get instinctively aroused by a woman and like it. Groinal responses and sensations don’t mean anything because they simply do not bring joy or a feeling of desire. Instead they bring panic. I once got a groinal when “testing my reactions” and I was sitting there crying like my life is over. That’s not how genuine attraction works and no one has woken up one day feeling different and no one has been secretly gay and never noticed it and spent his whole life into women instead.
I watched the trailer for the movie “Am I Ok?” and got completely triggered. Basically a 32 yo woman discovers she’s a lesbian seemingly out of nowhere. I was triggers and did some research (bad idea) and apparently some people who are gay have never had romantic or sexual interest in people of the same sex until one spontaneous moment of discovery. Now I’m worried that this could be me!! I’ve never had a long term relationship, have had crushes and fantasies but back out when things get too close for me. I do prefer my little fantasy world guy but now I’m wondering if maybe I missed something and am in denial, even if I didn’t know it.
