I have been on Wellbutrin for a month and didnt see much improvement in my focus or energy. My psychiatrist told me we should try a higher dose to see if it works better. However, I’m worried that a higher dose of Wellbutrin = more focus on compulsions rather than concentration on work? Thoughts ?

has it seemed to help? i got put on zoloft when i was 10 and for about 7 years i had minimal-no ocd symptoms. they only recently came back when i tried to switch off zoloft (bad decision LOL)

It has helped some of my ocd thoughts not stick as long, but I wouldn’t say it eliminated symptoms by any stretch. However, it has helped my anxiety. I don’t wake up anxious anymore and I haven’t had an anxiety attack since I started
that’s good! that’s a start! not sure how long you’ve been on it, but it took a little while for it to be a completely effective medication for me.

I was given wellbutrin for depression because it’s supposed to help with motivation (at least that’s what i was told). i took it in addition to my ocd meds, so i’m not sure how well it would help w ocd by itself, but that’s just my experience. not sure if this helps!

i take zoloft. have also tried prozac but it didn’t work as well for me
Four months ago, I began taking 25mg of Zoloft, and my dosage has since been increased to 100mg. This increase has significantly alleviated the anxiety and heart palpitations caused by my OCD. However, it hasn't been as effective in treating my depression. Alongside medication, I'm currently undergoing ERP therapy. Given the mixed results, I'm considering either switching medications or augmenting my current regimen. I have a consultation with my doctor tomorrow to explore my options. I've heard from others that finding the right combination of medications can make a huge difference. Does anyone have experience with a multi-medication approach that has been beneficial for them?
I was curious if anyone has had a similar situation. I have been on Sertraline for a year now and I've essentially been OCD free the whole time which has been wonderful but because of the extremely low libido my phychiatrist prescribed Wellbutrin as an adjunct to the Sertraline. I tried this once before 2 years ago when I was on Escitalipram but after a week I felt way more anxious and figured it was from the Wellbutrin and went off. I decided to try it again this time as I thought maybe it would be different with Sertraline. Again exactly on the 7th day I started having intrusive thoughts. I decided to stop taking it because I do not want to go back to that place after a year of being OCD free. I stopped yesterday morning and today I still had a couple thoughts this morning. I really hope I didn't just mess everything up in my brain and now my OCD is coming back.
