Should I share my ERP treatment details with my partner about ROCD?

You always have the right to privacy. It can be a weird line to define personal privacy vs "hiding" things, but imo how much you want to share about your mental health is in most cases a privacy issue. I have broadly mentioned ROCD to my husband. Usually in the context of "I had this jealous thought about you and a friend, which I know is my OCD so if I start being weird its not you. Please call me out on it." Of course that very much can get into confession/reassurance territory so I do my best to not take it in that direction. Sharing for support and asking your partner to help hold you accountable imo are good reasons to share if you are comfortable.

My boyfriend knows that I have ocd but he doesn’t know that these intrusive thoughts are about our relationship. Am I selfish for not telling him the complete truth ? I feel like if I told him he wouldn’t understand and just think I don’t love him . It breaks my heart to think about it and don’t know if I could go through that

personally, i explained how my ocd works and the how the erp helps reduce the anxiety overtime. i didn't go super in depth, as my biggest compulsion is confessing and i wanted to avoid that as much as possible. it was just the basics. my boyfriend was worried for me at first, yes, but as i proved to him that i was getting better through the treatment he realized it was for the better. the most important thing to rememebr is that he is there for you to support you through your journey, and you are there to support him on his. i hope this helped :)
