My real event ocd theme is back and I just had a random thought about it and now I’m triggered all over again, repeating what went wrong and how stupid I was as a dumb teenager to not realize it when I should have.
Don’t be hard on yourself. I know it’s easier said than done because of OCD, but the fact that you feel this way shows growth. Teens can do dumb things and I wouldn’t judge someone for something that they’ve done as a teen. As long as you see that you’ve done something wrong and stopped that behavior, I believe you’re more than deserving of acceptance and compassion. It’s hard though when you’re so far down the rabbit whole of guilt and shame to even allow yourself to show compassion for yourself. Nonetheless you’re deserving of self compassion and self love. You’re just human and humans make stupid choices, what matters is how you go forward after making those dumb choices. Take care and I hope you find peace within yourself one day.
@OCDinparadise I’m just so scared of the thoughts that tell me I’m a horrible person and I’ve done the most unforgivable thing. I’m so afraid of the voices in my head saying I’m a monster and that I don’t deserve love or compassion. I’m afraid of the voices telling me that I’m some horrible person that needs to be punished and sent somewhere because I’m a horrible criminal or something and I pray every single day that I’m not because it scares me to death the voices telling me that. I’ve told my mom everything and she said the same thing you said to not be hard on myself and she also said that I need to forgive myself and move forward and that I deserve love and whatnot and I don’t even believe my own mom. Even my dad before he passed away said that “don’t you think you’ve punished yourself enough” after I told him everything too and I still just can’t seem to get passed everything. I’ve come on here and explained everything and people have told me that ocd is just blowing it all out of proportion and that it’s not that bad. But to me it feels like the worst thing in the entire world. I really appreciate the kind encouragement but it’s really hard for me to ever think I’m worthy of being loved and forgiven.
@Just Breathe ❤️ You will find peace and be able to forgive yourself. You’re not a horrible person, OCD is just making you believe the lies that it tells. You do deserve to be loved and forgiven. Trust the process and get the treatment to help you get through this. That person you were before is dead now they don’t exist anymore. You’re a new and improved person now. Be proud of that. Of course your brain is gonna tell you you’re a horrible person, because that’s you believing that and OCD obsessing over it. It is scary and I’m sorry that you’re going through this. Something my dad has told me is that God knew you were gonna make that mistake and has forgiven you for it already. This too shall pass and when it does you’ll look back on these times with a smile because of the growth you’ve accomplished. You deserve kindness, compassion, and love.

I know we’re all’s different here, but I promise you someday and sooner you’re gonna recover from these themes and ocd in general. I’m surprised to say these themes no longer bother me as much ...I can tolerate real event now . Long time ago these themes are hell for me .

I am not clear about the real event ocd and i think i might have it or not What causing you distress??
I just saw a post on here that reminded me of something I did, or thought I did, nearly 12 years ago. I don’t know exactly when, but my OCD just latched onto it. I don’t even know if the memory is real. I’m freaking out. I was just a kid. Why am I feeling so guilty right now?
With real event OCD, I don’t know if any of you feel this way, but do you ever feel that the past event(s) that you ruminate about or constantly obsess about are gonna come up in your future and just absolutely ruin you, that’s how I’ve been feeling for months, it just feels like impending doom, and I hate having to even think that my future would be ruined by what I did as a teenager, and I did some dumb things, that I regret so deeply, I just can’t stop thinking about that.
Just bombarded with the guilt of past mistakes. Not knowing the outcome of things makes it worse. Seeing things/signs that are associated with the real event I obsess about everyday. I see it in tv, you tube, songs and everything. It's so scary how it's everywhere
