You are searching for certainty that is reenforcing your ROCD and giving it more gas to keep going and to potentially get worse. This community board will not be able to provide skills or adequate support. This is very painful, but to get your ROCD under control, therapy and ERP are the ONLY options. Get a call made. That way you can start to get your life and happy moments back. You’re not alone and you won’t be on your road to recovery. Have hope you can get better, because you can. =)
@Brendan =] This isn’t ROCD! 😭
@7710 ❤️ I know you’re hoping I will say it is and that I will reassure you so you can feel a little relief, but in the long run, it will set you back further. Read your own posts. I think you know it is yourself and you just like to hear reassurance from others because I was in the same boat. Maybe I’m off base and you honestly fear that these thoughts are genuinely happening in your mind and that OCD and ROCD have nothing to do with them. If that’s the case, realize that that is the trap that OCD sets and hopes you fall into because then it has you in its grip right where it wants you. At the end of the day, whether you know this is OCD or think that it isn’t, the answer is the same: getting ERP therapy.
@Brendan =] 😢💔 I don’t know what to do… I know it’s bc I want freedom.. I don’t want to break up. But this is the worse it’s ever been…. Never did I feel this way… my emotional connection is gone!
@7710 ❤️ Can you get ERP therapy through NOCD? Could you use your insurance if you have it? If not, could you afford $170 a session? It’s what you need. There aren’t options here. I pay out of pocket but it’s worth it to me. I’m already seeing progress.
@Brendan =] I did… my insurance can’t cover it…
@7710 ❤️ Can you afford out of pocket?
@Brendan =] No…
@7710 ❤️ I’m sorry to hear that. ERP is your way forward. Try to find a community ERP OCD therapist who accepts your insurance, or contact NOCD and see if they’ve started accepting it if it’s been a while since you checked. Also, look into if you can easily change insurances to one NOCD will accept. As a last resort, consider taking out a loan you can pay off over a few years to get NOCD help or look into an ERP book for OCD. Maybe someone else can jump in here with more suggestions for someone who needs treatment but can’t afford it. I’m really rooting for you.
@Brendan =] They do take one insurance that I use to have. United healthcare. I am thinking about getting that.
